    Practicing 1-Pocket

haven't seen him in years. He owned the cue club in Vegas when I was a kid, but I heard he wasn't involved with it any more. He and Cooney would play $50k 8-ahead sets every year that would last for about a week. Really fun to watch.

Are the best pool players also the most intelligent?

I think an accurate description would be that great pool players..... are obsessive and wake up wanting to crush the opposition. Some of them are smarter than average, but the defining characteristic is a single minded desire for greatness bordering on personality disorder. Wait, what was the...

    CTE/Pro One, the lesson.

that would be a perfect line for a rap song. I think I'll start writing it. Sorry for quoting the truth at 11:26 pm. I was racking for Big Jim The rack was slick, I started to slip It's hard, the life of a hustla Shootin vibes like another broke sucka... and all the haters...

    Secret 1p Break

That will be a blast I'm sure, wish I could watch your match. I'm not sure if keeping the cueball out in the middle would work as well in the beginning, I think you need to keep the pressure and surprise on him. Letting him have some easy shots in the beginning will take some of the shock and...

    CTE/Pro One, the lesson.

I've had it! In a stand of solidarity every time I see a link for a shameless commercial or someone complaining about them I am going to get on the floor and do pushups!! To further show my support of...ummm.......whichever side sounds more coherent at the time I will put money in an envelope...

    "Sevenkiller"....is this a deserved nickname???

I would usually say it's a good thing if you are rising to the challenge of beating higher ranked players, as long as you don't have problems giving a spot to lesser players also. That can't be a bad thing in my mind, I'm surprised you haven't gone up to a 7 if you're winning all these matches.

    1Pocket Break Value

lol. only those weak in heart, skill and a love of keeping their money can apply sir. You qualify for none and are far from average! :yikes:

    Practicing 1-Pocket

The guy who taught me, Toby Flaherty would set up strings of balls and practice one, two and three rail banks for disgustingly long hours. He would also practice sending the cueball off of balls on the top rail so the cueball would tuck behind a ball near his opponents side, which is one of the...

    Secret 1p Break

That's a deal, what's the bet? I used to gamble using a small trash can as my cue and a bag over my head. Let's get it on!

    Secret 1p Break

I must not be as concise with my words as you, you keep trying to make a point that I agree with. The break will work very well against an average guy who isn't very good at running balls. About 70% of the time you won't leave a practical shot and the rest of the time, they will run 1-3 balls...

    Secret 1p Break

Your inference of my answer would make sense at face value, but if by luck you mean that perfect break result scenario happening 70% of the time, and the times you sold out a ball or two you won the game anyway through your epic superstar onepocket skills then you are most certainly correct...

    Secret 1p Break

lol yes, his break was even more insane, his cueball tried to battle through a wall of balls. With this break it's only how you hit it. I made the video for a guy who wasn't very good at pocketing balls or moving and I thought this might be an option for improving his win percent without hours...

    Secret 1p Break

someone finally payed attention! Bless you for reading the info!!!! It obviously doesn't work against a good player, it is simply an option for a guy who's been playing his buddy for years even, both players can't run balls very well and he's outclassed in the moving department. The other top...

    1Pocket Break Value

lol. I love you too Jay, but.....I agree with you, it doesn't work against a great one pocket player and I've never used it against them. It does work for an average player who has been playing their friends for years and are about even with them or are subpar movers and want a way to overcome...

    1Pocket Break Value

break alternative here's a power one pocket break alternative, the breaker's pocket is on the same side as the cueball. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PAsHMg_Oyvc If you practice it you might find it puts your opponent in some rough situations. If you're playing a guy who's a little better...

    ESPN SportsNation pool video

they showed a video of mine on ESPN today. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2nhzg1Ucz5s I gave it a title of "world record" for one-handed speed pool, thinking there wasn't any other videos out there of anyone doing it, now I'm wondering if there is. I'll have to make another faster one in case...

Humility and Modesty in the Billiards Industry

Dang, you're right. I was trying to make a good argument against modesty and failed miserably. You may have won this battle, but I will be modestly prepared for our next encounter! Depressingly humbled, Jesse
