    Silly BCA eight ball question

A similar situation could more often happen that a breaker makes 5 on the break and on the ensuing shot pockets both remaining balls of that type (let's assume one was hanging in a pocket) and fouls. Now can the shooter approaching the table take BIH and drop the 8?

    tor lowry

First off I do like a lot of what Tor teaches and he explains it very well - but the above quote I think sums it up very well. If you had the dedication and focus to repeat a skill 3000 times to the exclusion of all else the training aids would become less useful.

    What rule(s) would you change?

I agree with the no early 9 rule, and in the case given earlier of the 9 blocking the pocket of the next numbered ball, just make it so that pocketing the 9 legally preserves your turn, it gets spotted and you shoot again, eliminating using the 9 ball as a defensive weapon.

    lining bar box pockets

The throw pillows are a good idea - the box is just a giant resonator for the sounds inside, I might try buying a bundle of sound deadening insulation and putting it in. I have also considered using a sound deadening surface tape like dynamat or stuff they make for HVAC and putting it on the...

    jensen/ca$h cue

That Ca$h cue definitely looks like one of those cues that has to be seen firsthand. That wood looks crazy good in the pictures, and I am sure even better in person. The Jensen is just a wonderful classic look. Thanks for sharing.

Shaft Wax ( Discussing methods of shaft maintenace )

The distillate listed under the Coleman MSDS is naptha 100% - search for the CAS number and it shows up. For some legal reason they don't refer to it as naptha anymore on certain sheets - some opine it's due to California law restricting certain chemicals. Also - Zippo acquired Ronsonol in 2010...

Shipping Insurance, Seller or Buyer Responsibility?

It is a rather hazy topic - reading 4 different sources seems to say 4 different things. The one thing that is constant is that providing the packaging for inspection is required for the claim. As the seller, why would you refund the money to the buyer before this step has happened? If they...

Thanks to the A-Hole who recommended using a +/-.005 machinist level for my table...

If you look at Starret's flat granite surfaces for machinists - only the AA Grade Laboratory surfaces are built within a .0005" tolerance - and then just under for a piece the size of a pool table (yes they have them - and they are a foot thick) anything less than laboratory grade and the...

Shipping Insurance, Seller or Buyer Responsibility?

The claim of insurance is filed by the person receiving (the buyer) you need to get the proof of insurance form the seller and take the package to the post office for inspection. The payout for the insurance is to the the person receiving the package, not the mailer. However, if the package...

    Must see one pocket game

*warning* thread hijack I have noticed lately that a number of Fast Lenny's youtube videos have had their audio muted 'for copyright infringement' Is this just someone like Sony music getting picky because of jukebox music in the background? Or is it something else? BTW excellent game - thanks...

    Purchasing a Production Custom Cue

I would suggest if you are going to end up with a custom, try and purchase a sneaky or conversion from the builder first to get an idea how their cues play as far as the taper of their shafts, etc. I recently had a Tony Sauer sneaky that was as beautiful as it was playable. If I had not...

Shaft Wax ( Discussing methods of shaft maintenace )

I have to agree with JoeyA here - we should thank you. I went out and got a container of Renaissance Wax and have never looked back. My shaft feels like it's glass coated and doesn't wear off nearly as much as my previous methods. This is one of those threads everyone who maintains their own...

    Weight bolts

If it has a standard hard McDermott bumper could you put an ounce or 2 of lead in it to get the balance and weight back more to the way it was before? or would their mounting method not be beefy enough to handle that?

For Sale Seciton: You can comment BUT

Being on both facebook (in multiple groups) and a regular here has shown me one reality lately. Most of the for sale traffic is driven by a small number of high volume dealers/flippers/enthusiasts (choose your term) Most of the actual sales I am seeing are in the $500 and under range with the...
