What is the Best Cue Ball? We have the Red Measles, but let's hear your opinions.

All the talk about measles balls and feedback seems presumptuous to me. If a player is shooting head down, eye on object ball, tip placement where desired on cue ball, that player gets NO feedback from a measles pattern. If they do, they are not executing well because the eye should remain on...

WHAT BALLS WOULD YOU BUY ?

Here is a really nice chart on Phenolic Chemical Resistance that shows Isopropyl Alcohol having no effect on Phenolic and listed as an "A" for cleaning: (Isobutyl should NOT be used) https://composite-laminates.com/phenolic_chemical_resistance_chart.htm

WHAT BALLS WOULD YOU BUY ?

Thank you for this post. I have written to Aramith to see if they have a concern with it. I will let you know what I learn if they respond... Dr. Dave here on the boards is a great resource. He has this video of MANY cleaning methods including Alcohol. He makes no mention about potential...

    300-600 dollar cue advice

I suppose I am quite late to this thread, but I LOVE my J. Flowers cue. You CAN get a VERY NICE cue with REAL INLAYS and a CF shaft in that price range. I bought it from KoinKid here and am absolutely pleased with my beautiful cue and CF shaft! Starting at $319. Please check out my review...

WHAT BALLS WOULD YOU BUY ?

UPDATE: I have drug out some of my older cue balls. I have an "Elephant" cue ball with the logo on it from a basic set, several "Red Dot" aramith that are about 15 to 18 years old, a "Measles" aramith that is about 6 years old, a "blue dot" centennial that is over 20, and a recent Dynaspheres...

WHAT BALLS WOULD YOU BUY ?

Thank you for this post. I have the EXACT same experience. Everyone here absolutely insists that Arcos II's are just Super Aramith Pro with a different style scheme. Aramith says they are SAP, but the Arcos II website says they are a unique formula. I HONESTLY do not know but I DO KNOW that...

Jayson Shaw in the Hunt for Another 14.1 Record

I will definitely be watching as I am able. Thank you so much for putting this together. Watching players at this level is fun AND very educational as I learn from watching strategy, stance and stroke. Hope he blows the lid off of it. Also, I wish you folks would sell the cool Jersy shirts...

    Pool Ball Collecting.

Very good! That's who I got my Palladium set from as well. Great seller. I don't know why but that set doesn't seem to be available anywhere right now though. I was hoping you had found a source for ALL of their Asian market sets. Maybe just a temporary supply item I hope.

    Pool Ball Collecting.

These are AWESOME! You are going to love them in your collection. I too have a set of their "Asian" styles and they are just great. Please if appropriate, share the source in case others here would like one of the styles unavailable generally here in the US! :-)

WHAT BALLS WOULD YOU BUY ?

This is why I ALWAYS rotate the head ball when playing alone at home. I start with the 1 and rotate to the 2,3,4... for each successive rack. The only time I use the 1 exclusively is when I play 9 ball with a friend. I don't know because I have never checked on this, but I suspect all of my...

WHAT BALLS WOULD YOU BUY ?

I had a set of centennials for over 20 years. They still looked perfect and played great. I sold them for a very fair price, as they still looked new. The ONLY reason I sold them was that I bought a set of Arcos II and noticed that after MANY hours of play, there was not a single scuff or...

WHAT BALLS WOULD YOU BUY ?

Well just my opinion. The Tournament set are beautiful for sure but to me they are just another standard set. The Elephant Beautiful balls really are great looking in person and my wife and all female players would rate them much higher just because of the swirls. Best advice is by what you...

    Soft Tips

I am a soft tip player for years, but recently tried a G2 Medium and have been very pleased. This one actually replaced a plain ol' LePro. I also switched to TAOM chalk at the same time, so that may be a factor? Not sure. The tip does stay chalked better though.

Why 9' ft. Tables ? Guy...

There isn't enough energy in my head to actually explode these days. I did not mention larger tables because that wasn't the question. Also, the 9 really is the better in JUST my opinion. The larger tables require too much extension and bridge shooting. While those are certainly high skills...

Where is this? I'm about ready to retire! :-) Looks like more fun than the beach to me.

Why 9' ft. Tables ? Guy...

Anthony Beeler has a very good video that explains this in his online billiards academy (which I recommend. ) A lot of times this is a stroke issue. On a 9, your stroke must be longer, level and consistent. The result is more "elbow drop" for players who are used to shorter tables...

    "Gold Crown" Ball Polisher...FINISHED!

I would love to see such elegance available to the rest of us unskilled masses. Sadly, even if that were desired, there are probably all kinds of legal issues with Diamond in trying to profit on their basic design. What COULD happen though, is Diamond could offer an "upgraded" model with...

Why 9' ft. Tables ? Guy...

It is the pinnacle of required skill. The pro players on a larger table, and perhaps even with smaller pockets, have a challenge that is equal to their ability. I find, and I think most do, that when I have played a day on a 9ft. table then go home to my 8ft. table, my game is tighter. The...
