    Hard Times Bellflower

I have friends in the health industry as well as a few in the fire dept and a neighbor who died horribly and whose family who would happily see you put away as delusional. Science and chemistry can not be spun by conspiracy theorists. Sorry all I had to respond. Wrong Forum. My bad--but really.

    Hard Times Bellflower

I was told the same thing early this morning. Family Billiards in Lakewood along with the above mentioned. That is all in about 250 square miles with 8+ million people. Really sad. Great memories of 30+ years of action and a million stories. For half of those years road players galore came...

    Sisters

Seems that every time I think that the Bubinga and Brazillian Rosewood I have from you are enough you post some beautiful woods that start me thinking of just one more. Nice wood combo's and I already how they will hit and play.. Superb. Nice.

Bustamante vs Pagulayan All Around Challenge May 1-5 2020

Finest display of 8 Ball I ever remember having seen. Maybe Orcullo's win over Ortmann in the IPT qualifier at Hard Times in Bellflower was close but I think Busty's play today was the BEST. A real pleasure to see such perfection.

Lonny Pace your cue is finished...

Now that is a classy cue. Really, really tasteful. Hate to show my ignorance but what is the wood? Cored? I will be looking at that again.

So, how much did he lose ?

I didn't read all of the posts but I hope somebody asked what in the world happened to "Posting?" I still remember my wonderment walking into Hard Times late one weekend and every light on the tournament side had cash posted on it, Lots of cash. Just wondering. I remember in the late 60's a...

LIVE-Bustamante vs Pagulayan One Pocket Race to 24 April 21-23RD 2020

I know the shot you are talking about but in that situation I don't think he takes that shot if the stakes are 5 figures and it is coming out his back pocket. I'm not even sure he was shooting that shot given where he was shooting it from. The back of my brain still says that the frustration of...

LIVE-Bustamante vs Pagulayan One Pocket Race to 24 April 21-23RD 2020

Busty need 1 ball for the match Alex needed 2 balls to stay alive. Busty had missed his great chance to close out the match. 2 balls are spotted and Busty shooting, once again needing just 1 ball for the match, he slams into the spotted balls with no apparent rhyme or reason and gave Alex the...

LIVE-Bustamante vs Pagulayan One Pocket Race to 24 April 21-23RD 2020

The scratch was bizarre. From what I saw it was not planned and I think Alex's reaction confirms that. But if he is on a lie detector and it substantiates that he played it that way--I "might" change my mind. To me Busty was looking tired at the end of yesterday.

LIVE-Bustamante vs Pagulayan One Pocket Race to 24 April 21-23RD 2020

I think that it was the next to the last game when one of the most bizarre things I have seen happen on a pool table occurred. Busty on 7 with a ball in his pocket Alex tries to take him out and mistakenly makes Busty's ball. Busty wins---but no Alex miraculously scratches in the side pocket...

CTE Video Of The Day #2

In the first minute or so Stan used a couple of words that comprised the name of Hal Houle's company in the late 80's and early to mid 90's before he moved up to Burlingame in the San Francisco area. The name of Hal's company was "Colliding Spheres."

    Great Pool Room Owners

JR, you were around and active during the height of pool in Calif. I played in a bar league, Southern Calif Cocktail Lounge League, in the very late 80's and early 90's. Our team captain quit because he was going to Hard Times. I decided to check it out and it was like a Wild West Show. Archie...

Would it be possible for a Remake of The Hustler to be good?

Don't care how deep you dig you are not going to find the equals of Paul Newman Jackie Gleason & George C.Scott. They forever "own" those roles.

    the cue"playability

Wood and construction technique. I currently only own two cues. Both by the same maker. Over the years I have hit with probably15+ cues made by him and they all have the crispness and playability I find desirable. Integrity & craftsmanship along with the best shaft wood around. The names of...

    Slip Stroke

What year was that? There used to be a player that came up to Hard Times from San Diego for some of the larger tournaments. However, he looked somewhat older than this Ignacio but a somewhat very similar stroke.

Wishing the very best for you. I can't imagine the head trips this is putting you through, My two adult children are under the weather and my youngest grandson is having a terrible time breathing but with no fever they won't test him. Who would have thought that we would ever live in a world...

    Corey's Symmetrical 10-Ball Break...

The two balls behind the head ball go regardless of speed? Corey does come up with breaks that are out of the ordinary. He has quite an understanding of the rack.
