What's going on with pool equipment?

I agree, but try to find a Mezz right now...

What's going on with pool equipment?

I just bought a limited series Joss JOS213 and it's great. I prefer no-wrap cues and Steve Janes told me he makes the Limited Series exactly the same way he makes all Joss cues. I upgraded to their LD maple shaft and got it delivered for under $400. I review it in the Cue forum. Best bargain...

What's going on with pool equipment?

He's not entirely wrong. He overstates his case, and people can find what they want most of the time if they're patient and are willing to settle for their second choice, but imo there do seem to be a lot more items listed as "out of stock" than there used to be.

    Joss "Limited Series" cues

Greetings all. I just received my JOS213 "limited series" cue ordered from Pool Dawg and I'm impressed. For a price of $267.75 I wasn't sure how Joss could hit that price point without cutting corners, but I was assured they meet all the usual Joss quality standards. I upgraded to their HP...

    Joss "Limited Series" cues

Greetings all. Joss is selling "limited series" cues on a couple pool supply warehouses. They're priced at $267.75 which is considerably lower than their norm. They aren't particularly attractive, but I've never played with a Joss and at that price it might be something to try. Has anyone played...

Not sure which is your favorite cue?

Does anyone else with multiple cues struggle with deciding which one you play the best with? I have cues with different butt and tip diameters, different feels, different tips, and it seems like I play pretty much the same with all of them. I have picked one and use if for competition, but any...

    Just Curious...

Absolutely! I can be playing as well as l can, and in the next minute can't pocket a ball. I would imagine the better you are the less it happens and the less drastic the change is, but I think everyone who plays the game goes through this.

Southwest cues how much and how long through the years?

Anyone is perfectly justified in paying whatever they want for a cue, and waiting however long they want. Personally, anything remotely approaching 18 years just seems absolutely crazy to me. I've played with a lot of cues; one I bought was from a very reputable custom cue maker. They were all...

    Tim Scruggs Sneaky

Probably not, and not necessarily "better" than sneakies made by many other custom or even production companies. I have a MEZZ Sneaky Pete I'd put up against anything. No one with an opinion on this topic is right or wrong. Whatever a player likes the best is the best...for him.

    I went back today...

I tried a CF shaft and it was OK, but I prefer my Pechauer P+Pro. Not sure about the LD properties of one vs. the other, but I just like the feel and seem to shoot better, for whatever reason.

    Show me your wrapless cues

Pechauer Pro Series. Black Palm points and inlays and a matching stained maple handle.

    Top 5 pool players ever

Efren Reyes nowhere on the list? How is that possible?

Would like some feedback on Josey cues, please

I've heard a lot of negative comments about a lot of custom cue makers, but I have nothing but good things to say about Josey Cues. Reasonable prices, reasonable lead times, excellent customer service and he'll do what he says he'll do. He made my merry widow to my custom specs on the butt...

My experience dealing with a well known cue maker

For the record, if everything is true and there was no prior animosity between the 2 of you, I firmly believe you were right to name him. There is absolutely no excuse for his dealings with you. He may or may not be a good cue maker, but he is also either an incompetent businessman or dishonest...

    People buy this stuff?

People can spend whatever they want on whatever they want, whether it makes any sense or not and that's fine. Predator makes a good product, apparently, but lots of companies make great cues that aren't ridiculously overpriced.

    Seyberts$

Agreed. I used to deal exclusively with Seyberts, but they changed a couple of their policies that made them a little less customer-friendly in my opinion. I recently got a Mezz Sneaky Pete from Pool Dawg and they were the only place where I could get one. The weight wasn't what it was supposed...

    Who would you choose?

Keith Josey. He'll do whatever you want, and his reputation is spotless as far as I know. Great customer service and he'll do what he says he'll do, in the time frame he promised.

When to draw the line with cue maker?

...said the guy who doesn't understand honesty or integrity, and apparently resents those who do. Laughable.

When to draw the line with cue maker?

Reasonable, fair, and honorable? He is none of those things. Maybe at one time when his business was under control, but if you see this situation as OK I just don't understand you.

When to draw the line with cue maker?

Did you ask him to send you a photo of your "almost done" cue?
