Phenolic Tip (or similar) on CF Shaft (Revo) ...?

So isn't linen phenolic fibrous and pliable? Aren't really all materials "pliable" to a point? KMRUNOUT

Phenolic Tip (or similar) on CF Shaft (Revo) ...?

Phenolic and G10 are very different, with very different hardnesses. I wonder if Bob Jewett was making this distinction when he said phenolic tips were “technically” illegal. Technically according to whom or what rule set. I know G10 is harder than the cue ball and can cause those half moon...

WWYD - Getting on 2 ball

You just need to play the shot exactly how you did, but with lots of left spin. It’s actually fairly routine if you do it that way. Think of hitting the middle diamond on the left short rail. KMRUNOUT Sent from my iPhone using AzBilliards Forums

Tournament payouts stack top or share the wealth?

Oh I'm not disagreeing with you at all. I was just presenting some additional info for people's consideration. I do think the different entry fees is a consideration, but I think that essentially works like a calcutta works: the players with the greatest odds of winning pay the most to try...

Tournament payouts stack top or share the wealth?

Hangthe9...if you’re talking about the tourney I think you are, I think it is important to point out that the entry fees were handicapped. Some players played only $45 while others paid $85. The only $85 guy got 3rd. 1st 2nd and 4th all paid $65. I finished 4th, won $200 for my $65 entry...

I agree with you completely. My 9-7 loss to Chris Melling went in as 1-0 him lol. For real though, they are missing the boat pretty badly (pun...considered?) KMRUNOUT

    Is the Break Shot Overrated?

Regardless of the ability of the person getting the breaks, they are definitely getting the benefit of a good player NOT breaking. If I can put several racks together off the break...now I can’t. That’s a pretty big advantage for the person I’m giving all the breaks to. Whether that quantity...

    Trouble with 9-ball Break

Those results you describe seem like the consequence of a failure to hit the front ball square. Any chance you have a video? Pretty hard to diagnose otherwise. KMRUNOUT Sent from my iPhone using AzBilliards Forums

Pechauer 11.8 CF weight and deflection?

It seems everyone assumes that the wall thickness is the same on the 12.9 and 12.4. Do we know if this is the case? KMRUNOUT Sent from my iPhone using AzBilliards Forums

    Difference between 3/8-10 and 3/8-11

Screws have a "major diameter" which is essentially the outer diameter of the threads. This is typically the diameter given in the name. So a 3/8 screw is 3/8" diameter at the tips of the threads. The "minor diameter" is the diameter of a screw at the base of the threads...at the bottom of...

    Revo more deflection????

I played with a Revo for over 6 months. The Revo has more deflection than some shafts and less than others. My 314-3 has WAY less deflection; but it’s smaller diameter and lighter than normal. Z3, OB2...these have well less deflection than the Revo. The explanation of the deflection...

The softer the tip, the more spin you can get? is this accurate.

This is indisputable. This is highly debatable. Certainly possible, but doesn't sound right. It would be nice to hear upon what testing they base this. KMRUNOUT

The softer the tip, the more spin you can get? is this accurate.

The path from accuracy to simplicity, without sacrificing accuracy, is the mark of genius. As an instructor, accuracy is primary. long horns is correct that you oversimplified at the cost of accuracy. "Speed of stroke" will never mean "speed of stroke plus mass of cue stick". Not a biggie...

The softer the tip, the more spin you can get? is this accurate.

How is this measured? Probably my top end is one of two. I sometimes practice with the object ball adjacent to the 1st diamond on the side rail by the far corner pocket, and the cueball about a diamond and a half away from that, both about a ball off the rail. I draw back to the head rail...

The softer the tip, the more spin you can get? is this accurate.

Would not that slight additional tip offset be more than made up for by the lowered energy transfer? I’m sure we’ve been in this conversation many times before. Seems softer allows a better spin to speed ratio, and a harder tip allows more maximum rpms. KMRUNOUT Sent from my iPhone using...
