    Identify cue

That’s an interesting cue stick. Normally, since the joint pin is in the shaft, I would suspect that the Q was made in Asia. However, the construction and materials used do not suggest this in my opinion. The reason the joint pin may be in the shaft is because it came loose from cues butt and...

How far away does the cue and OB have to be away from each other for it not to be a double hit?

Distance is not as important as the action of the cue ball after the hit. Even if the balls are closer together, you can still shoot the shot and not foul the cue ball. If you are able to stop the cue ball or draw it by using an elevated butt then the shot isn’t a Push or a bad hit. The only...

    Help with logo ID

That is the model number of that cue, it is a Huebler H-3 that was made in the 1970s. Does the cue say Huebler on the butt cap?"

    Help Identify This Cue

Then it may or may not be the original shaft for that cue. But to my knowledge, Paul Huebler didn't use brass shaft inserts. Hope this helps

    Help Identify This Cue

I’m almost 100% certain the cue was made by Paul Huebler, he used that ring design above the butt cap on a regular basis. However, it appears that the cue has been refinished because it should have Huebler engraved on the butt cap. The cues weight bolt is also exactly the type Paul used in his...

Things to consider for those forum members buying their first pool cue

Hey Hu, I think you hit the nail on the head my friend, your explanation of how a cue can be built and how a cue maker can adjust the weight internally is very accurate. I have personally built a few cues where weight was added behind pin to fully balance the cue due to materials used to build...
