I would like an area for butts and shafts. My son loves working with me. He is 16 put still has his fight with asthma. He has a good mask. I would like to get it better.

I don't think atlas has that pin. Schmelke sells them. The tap is a m-12 sold at Schmelke.

Do you make your collets? I use a set for finished cues only. Place them in a zip lock bag after use. Sounds like your finish was cured so check your collets for scratches.

I'm making a new shaft. I put my maintenance pin in the shaft, 3/8-10, it fits good. Try to put it on the butt, it won't even start on. I put a 3/8-10 pin beside the butt pin, it's a 3/8-10 thread.

Anyone know where to get an acme 3/8-10 tap?

Thanks all. I think Lee hit with acme 3/8-10. my 3/8-10 maintenance pin works on the shaft, but not the butt. the tread count is 10. Where do I get that tap?

This is a MG cue. It"s not a 3/8-10. Can't tell it's 3/8-11 or what?

Thats a big investment for "every now and then." What are you using now? What finish are you comfortable with? There are cheaper ways to go if you only build 10 or so cues a year.

You are hitting them at tax season. Pepole get there money and order new toys! Also Valley in a couple of weeks. They both will be there.

When I build a shaft for a cutec, I make my insert out of phenolic. You can get the tap at Atlas or KJ on here sells the right tap.
