    First lesson with Scott Lee

I have been doing some informal teaching this past year and it is amazing the way most students respond to their first lesson or two. Usually great leaps of improvement are realized by working on a few simple things. Years ago, I had the privilege of working at a pool hall owned by one of your...

How to examine if a cue's straight or not?

+1 The only time you should roll a cue to check for straightness is when you're about to hustle someone.

    First cue: $3-450

How about a <$100 Cuetec cue and $350 spent on lessons? My 8 year old boy is starting to collect the NFL cues (I think they're made by Cuetec?) and for under $100 bucks it will do almost everything the higher priced cues can do. As a matter of fact, I think if I had a $2000 cue and someone...

    Question about Scrugg's SP

And 90% of them (Vettes) are now Red/Black. I would worry more about someone counterfeiting an older & very expensive cue. I certainly don't know much about this, but I would think that you could fake an older cue by getting a part or two that was identifiable as coming from the...

    Robot Vacuum for cleaning table?

Has anyone out there tried using one of the robot vacuums for cleaning a table?

    Anyone here plays 6 pocket?

It wouldn't be anything that I would want to spend a roll of quarters on for league play. I do practice that way as it is good for concentration (see how you feel after missing an easy shot on your 3rd ball). The handicapping is the big draw for the game IMHO. I am surprised that nobody...

Junior Shark Guiding Wheel - Great product!

I am sure there are all sorts of uses for this device. Contact Jill at juniorshark.com, she let me order via phone with my promise to send her a check. Also, I do some occassional teaching and one adult student aims center ball and hits low. I am going to give the JSGW a try next time we meet.

Junior Shark Guiding Wheel - Great product!

The slip fit on a 13mm ferrule is very snug. Snug enough that the kids aren't able to take it off by themselves. One of the few problems I see is that the JSGW does get in the way (even when rotated 180 degrees up) for shots where the cue ball is next to the rail. The kids don't seem to notice.

Junior Shark Guiding Wheel - Great product!

Does anyone know if this item has been sanctioned for VNEA or other competitive play? Just thinking that in certain situations it might be a nice replacement for the rake.

Junior Shark Guiding Wheel - Great product!

I came home the other day to find my son (7) playing pool with a friend (6). The 6 year old was about to do some serious damage to my cloth, so I watched the kids as they finished their game and immediately went and ordered a 4-pack of the Junior Shark Guiding Wheel. It helps my son reach the...

    Change a GC4 into a T-day serving table?

Thank you for all of the ideas. The poolanddarts vinyl clad foam looks like the closest thing to what I had in mind. I am having ~30 people over for my wife's b-day party and simply want to be able to put something on the table to even it out, lay down some plasitc (just in case), put my heavy...

    Change a GC4 into a T-day serving table?

My question is: Has anyone tried something lightweight like foam core board or something similar with good results? If so, what material did you use, what was your design and how much did it cost? Thanks
