Willie Nelson is singing "On the Road Again" over and over in my head... :-)

Has it been 2 weeks? (RKC Install Secrets Revealed)

LOL as well <big grin>! Did you get your ramp fixed? BTW, storm that came through here left only 3" of snow. Already melted off the roads for now.

Has it been 2 weeks? (RKC Install Secrets Revealed)

When Glen says, "See ya in two weeks" you know you are on the list! And that's all that matters. So do ya feel lucky today, punk...well, do ya? 'Cause if ya don't ya should. Without one ounce of hyperbole, I'd say having RKC do your setup is like having Balabushka or Szamboti make you a...

Will a Diamond table stand the test of time?

Do Diamond tables need more style? I was in Denver this past weekend and went to Rack 'Em Billiards in Aurora. They had a mix of 7' & 8' Valleys, what appeared to be old Diamond Professionals and one Diamond ProAm with pro cut pockets and Dymondwood rails (which we played on). What struck me...

    An interesting league situation.

    4. In the event the cue ball or an object ball stops on the edge of the pocket then falls into the pocket because of vibrations, fan or stamping of feet, it shall be replaced on the edge of the pocket as near as possible to its position before interference...

If you haven't done so already, you may want to find out what the original finish was like on the parts you intend to polish...If originality is what you are after.

    Cuemaker build off

LOL -- the homologation cues might even become a special interest collector's item. _________ I think the appearance of the cues will play a big part of the tester's rating. Can you imagine if SW, for (just one) example, made a $500 SP for the event? And if they won the contest and offered...

    Cuemaker build off

QBILDER: Sorry for the confusion in my post re: item #4. I was not suggesting that all or even one of the cue makers be paid. I envisioned 10 people sending ftgokie or another trusted party, the not-to-exceed cost. After a winner is determined, the cue maker would make a run of 10...

    Cuemaker build off

A few more thoughts... 1) Should the cues be built to a "not to exceed" price point? 2) Is there any way to insure the cues while they are travelling about? 3) Should a standard Ratings Form should be created and made available for the cue makers to look over prior to the start of the...

    Will ivory joint crack?

I am certainly not an engineer, however a quick googling of altitude modulus of density indicated only a slight change in materials like wood. I wonder if Bill was saying 'altitude' when he may have meant less moisture ?

Sly Cue - Ebony player with 1/2 joint

Thank you, Leon. The whole process was a pleasure! I just wished that I could play up to what the cue is capable of offering. Realistically though, if I can get a 15% stroke improvement just by using my Sly, I think that's huge!!! PS. the cue gets a ton of compliments

    Will ivory joint crack?

I had Bill Stroud make me a cue with an ivory joint and ferrules back in the mid-70's. The joint cracked when the cue was about 1 year old. I was always careful to let it warm up when coming in from the cold before playing with it, but the day it cracked I wasn't even shooting with it. That...

Sly Cue - Ebony player with 1/2 joint

The Sly is starting to come into its own now. I had a great session with it last night. The cue especially seems to love to gently roll in the long balls. Which is great since I can't see squat anymore.
