Best pool match of all time!

I believe that was the Sands Regency Open 21 finals. Accu-stats S21-11d.

Best pool match of all time!

A while back I asked Pat Flemming (Accu-stats) to send me DVDs of his 10 best matches. Any game, any player, etc. Below is what he sent me, and they're great. My all time favorite, however has got to be TAR SVB v Alex P 10-ball race to 100. Amazing.

Does Pool Need better TV Production Quality?

Personally, I don't think lack of production quality or lack of "spectator appeal" is the problem. Bass fishing is not exactly a spectator sport, yet they have a thriving pro tour with many out of industry corporate sponsors, ESPN coverage, and they fill small stadiums with spectators for the...

    Question about Titlist splicing

The Brunswick Titlist didn't have a leather wrap at all. The Willie Hoppe Professional was the two piece Titlist with a leather wrap.

    TAR 29 Commentary

I am not a MW fan. For some reason he rubs me the wrong way, kind of like Jim Wyche. We all know that the all-time greatest combo is BI and DD. It was a real treat to hear them together on the Accu-stats MIH tourney recently. The idea of using technology to allow the commentators to be...

    TAR 29 Commentary

I really enjoy Ken Schuman as a commentator, and I think he does an exceptional job. His technical knowledge of the game relative to rules, patterns, and game scenarios is excellent. He also does a great job recognising sponsors, introducing players, etc. My only qualm would be that...

    Shane learned alot from Earl

I used to admire Shane for the way he simply accepted the circumstances of the table without emotion. It didn't matter that his opponent just missed and ended up safe, or that he broke and made a ball with no shot on the 1, etc. He was just happy to be at the table and was intent on making the...

    Question about Titlist splicing

Yes, all original Titlist cues are "full spliced," and yes, a leather wrapped starting cue will prevent you from ending up with a wrapless cue, unless you re-splice a larger diameter handle section (which most likely won't match the wood grain of the original cue) or unless you want a very small...

1930s cue ?? On the bay.

Certainly old, but if it were '30s, wouldn't the pin most likely be in the shaft?

    Billiards is an olympic sport?

As soon as darts, fishing, and Scrabble become olympic events, I will start complaining that pool should be included as well. Until then, I am satisfied to call pool a GAME of skill, that I enjoy. Now, if the new BCAPL rules require me to run around the block once per shot and swim one lap...

    Is Efren Done?

Best player on Earth today or even at any point in the future, possibly not, but a pool champion and legend who deserves respect? Absolutely. This thread is disrespectful to arguably the best pool player that has ever lived. :nono:

    Break Stats -- Accu-Stats "Make-It-Happen" 8-Ball Invitational, Day 4 (8/12/12)

This was a really enjoyable tournament to watch. To state the obvious, the Lion is an animal, defeating DA not just once, but TWICE! Shane was just not himself, and Efren, well... it was fun watching him compete despite the results. Cory made two sick kicks (both aginst Efren I believe) to...

    Pool near NJ City?

Thanks Ron. I believe I was at Amsterdam one time before, but I may stop back by if I have time. Maybe I can take a couple bucks off of Mika while I'm there... ;)

    Pool near NJ City?

Hi all, I'm in Jersey City for a bit, and wonder if someone can point me to any nice pool halls in the area. Thanks.

TAR 28: Deuel vs Schmidt All Around July 13-15

I love the all-around concept rather than just multiple sets of the same game. This match-up should be a good one. One question: Isn't the term "all-around" rather than "all round?" Either way, I'll probably be sweating this one... as usual.

    Where to play in Chicago???

If you're downtown near the west loop, City Pool Hall on Hubbard is a nice place to play on big tables.

A few pics: Just moved into our home & converted studio apartment into my pool room.

Great room! I just hope you break toward the wall, rather than toward those windows... :)
