    Entertaining ad for a cue

I've been hustled by other players before. But now I have to guard against being hustled by the table. Damn, pool is tough!

    newbie

Practice. Lots. Then practice more. Then a lot more. Repeat. :) When you play by yourself, make sure your practice time is "quality" practice. Meaning, don't just bang balls around. Focus. Play like it's the finals of a big match. You gotta burn that muscle memory in. Sometimes (many times)...

Will there ever be a Pro Tour Again?

The RIGHT thing?!? How is dumping money into a losing venture the right thing? Just because pool is a wonderful game, it doesn't mean there has to be a pro tour. Horseshoes is a fun game, too. Not many pro horseshoe throwers, huh? I don't know if you know this, but "sponsors" are businesses...

Say what you want about Earl......

Sorry, but I'm going to have to disagree with you on one point. Yes, Fats was a cocky s.o.b. and he could back it up, just like Earl. But, unlike Earl... Didn't anybody else catch what Howard Cosell said right after Mosconi wins the 9-Ball match? Apparently Fats misunderstood the rules, but...

Serious problems with new Predator?? Help!!

Getting used to a new LD shaft can be very frustrating, but DO NOT switch back and forth. Just stick to it. You're game may suffer a little right now, but you'll get through it It's not so much that you have to get used to it, as you have to untrain your brain from compensating for cut shots...

    Qn about tiger emerald tips

Unless they use green cows, they gotta dye the leather green. Perhaps it was just a batch of not quite as dark as normal green?

    Tip Production

A guy I know that has one of those cue repair/retail booth at big tournaments said he was "having his own brand of layered tips made" for him. It instantly struck me as a "Huh?" moment. That would be like having Jacoby make a line of cues for me, me scraping off their logo, putting my logo on...

    Kamui Gator Grip?

You can buy a lot of 100 grit sand paper for $20. A lot. A lot, lot, lot! And, no self-respecting crack head will steal sand paper. And, if they do, you'll still have a couple pounds of sand paper left.

    Micarta Ferrules / Moori Tips

Sorry, I'm not a rebuttable person, so I guess we can't do business. I am, however, a reputable person. :)

    Missing a shot on purpose?

There will always be players that don't understand safeties. Perhaps they believe safeties are "un-manly", or perhaps they're just not forward-thinking enough to strategically plan ahead (I'm trying to politely suggest that they're stupid). You will never, ever, EVER get them to understand...

    Ivory joint questions

As touched on above, different joint materials give a cue a different feel. But, you have to take into account everything: 1. Tip 2. Ferrule 3. Shaft construction 4. Shaft taper 5. Joint pin 6. Joint material 7. Butt construction 8. Materials used in butt construction ... And probably a dozen...

    moori tips

Yeah, I'd have to agree because Joe got fined by the US Fish and Wildlife dept for selling illegal ivory a while ago. Oh, wait, that was Atlas, wasn't it? Ahh, no big deal, selling illegal contraband doesn't really effect one's credibility, right? (Sorry, couldn't resist!)

    moori tips

Here's the link to the last "Moori is going out of business" thread: http://forums.azbilliards.com/showthread.php?t=294779&highlight=moori+barringer Read Joe's response in post #11 and tell me he doesn't make 100% sense. Also, there's some very good (if not humorous) info on his web site in the...

    moori tips

I'm not a Moori tip expert, nor do I have any inside info on the subject, but I will say that the rumors about Moori just won't go away. Every couple of months there's a panic that Moori's are gonna disappear off the face of the Earth, or that all Moori's currently available are counterfeits...

    Tip question

Not all layered tips are created equal. The top quality tips (Mooris, Kamuis, almost all the Tigers, Ultraskins, etc.) trim and shape effortlessly with a brand new box-cutter style razor blade on a rest. Other "ok" layered tips are just that: ok. Sometimes (many times!) they de-laminate when...

    Looking for WOOD TAPS

FYI: don't confuse the 3/8-8 and Radial, they're different animals. The 3/8-8 is the Asian import look-a-like similar to a Radial. Not saying there's anything wrong with the 3/8-8. Just saying make sure you have the right one for the job at hand.
