    Jacoby Ultra vs Hybrid Edge?

I own both, the skinny version of both. The Ultra I feel has a much stiffer hit, maybe a slightly longer of a taper. I’m trying to transition, at this stage I still like the Hybrid a little better, but I have played more with Hybrids so it may just be getting used to something new. I do...

About to Captain a Team for the 1st Time in APA - Advice?

Advice? Be honest with yourself. Be sure your house is order before looking to closely at someone else's. I've been an APA player for, oh.... lets say a little bit and I've gone through a lot of these threads, you know - the APA bash-o-holic threads, and I wonder about all the negative...

how are ya'll doing in league ?

Perhaps you enjoy TAP, and APA not so much? I know I always play better when I'm having a good time. Are you the APA Captain? or maybe the defacto captain? Is the APA team a more high pressure situation? or is it more cyclical? have you previously been better in APA, and not so much in TAP?

Breaking Down a 7 FT Valley Table

Assuming he took the legs off, you can't stand it on end or pick up one end and lean it to take the corner a little at a time. I would figure if the slate fit the cabinet would also, but I'm not there. Small doorways?

What would you do for "Pool" if you hit the lottery?

... or Hookers and blow (like Jimmy says - good idea)

Petition to bring billiards to 2024 Olympics

The NAIA Schools list Bowling among their sanctioned sports, I don't think it would be a very long leap to pool, they also list Cheer and Competitive Dance among their sanctioned sports. I would be inclined to think that pool may have a chance as an NAIA sport. Poetry Slam? c'mon, pool has to be...

What would you do for "Pool" if you hit the lottery?

When the power ball prize gets to be about 600 or 800 million I'd finance a a 3 year run of an open entry pro tournament, a pool week (if you will) an 8 ball, 9 ball and 10 ball tournament. The pay out would be a total of somewhere between 1 and 1.5 million ish. We'd figure out the breakdown...

Petition to bring billiards to 2024 Olympics

Oh, I dunno, I think pool is as much a sport as NASCAR or Golf, and I think Bowling was a demonstration sport a few years ago. Horse Shoes? probably at some point in the past. Maybe the movement should be to make Billiards (or Pool) an NCAA sport as a stepping stone to the Olympics. It already...

Kamui chalk not allowed in some leagues?

No insult intended, nothing wrong at all with being frugal, and nothing wrong with Masters. I'm cheap, I wear it like a WWE Championship belt, and I steal the house chalk, sometimes on purpose, sometimes not. Nothing wrong with being cheap. I wonder, have you tried the $30 chalk? I think chalk...

Kamui chalk not allowed in some leagues?

That's solid logic, but I suspect that like me, maybe you're just cheap. I've got gallon size jars of Master but I don't remember buying any of it

Home made Billiard Ball Cleaner Project 1

Very cool, and a nice design. The turn table with the ball cylinders, 18"? and do you just dump a little liquid polish on each ball, or a couple pumps of Windex? after having used it, would you have considered anything besides carpet for lining? the rotation speed - the faster, the better?

Anyone played with the new Jacoby Hybrid Ultra Shaft

I just got one at the APA event, an Ultra Skinny, 11.75 tip. So far it's great, different than the Hybrid, a little stiffer, not "whippy" at all. I'll switch the tip to the Super Soft soon, but so far no complaints.

    Pre-Cat Broken Ferrule Repair

Predator can do it but not with the same ferrule. I just did the ferrule on one of my pre cat shafts, it was a little scary at first as it was my first time doing this kind of work on that shaft, but it all came together quite nicely. Very happy with the result

    league fees

West Denver Suburbs, now $6.00 per (so if you play both 8 and 9 in double jeopardy it's $12.00), and just about everyone is charging some kind of green fees now if they open the tables or feeding quarters into the beast the matches cost about $9 or $10 per anyways. I feel like our LO is very...

    Pool league burnout

This ^^^^^^^ If you think you're experiencing burnout, you probably are. If you're already on a team maybe take a couple of weeks off, if you miss it, if you find yourself thinking about it, curious who won or lost then you probably just needed a week or two off or maybe a session. If you...

Sharing my expensive and unwise cue journey, starting and ending via Schon

I think many of us have a story very similar. I chased a cue around for several years, finally found one. Got it home and it was gonna be magic...... I can't stand it. It's pretty, kinda unique, but man o man what a mistake. So it sits in a storage case. One day I'll have a billiard room, and...

    E-Grip pool cue holder review

I really like it, I’d love to have one, but not at $75. Just a little too pricey

    APA....How does it work?

This is an example of a “symptom” that I hear quite a bit, as readers/posters on this website I think we all do. I’m sure there are are some LO’s that lack the necessary conviction to be LO’s and maintain their position and business the way it was meant to be maintained. On the other side of...
