Breaking Down a 7 FT Valley Table

My friend has a 7 FT Valley table that he can't fit down his basement. He got the slate down but the body won't make the turn to get down the steps.

Removing walls/ceiling/floor is not an option.

Anybody know how to break down the body of the table into smaller pieces?

I will start this by saying I ran into same problem! I took the stairs out way easier in my opinion. But yes you can break it down more. You have to remove the bottom plywood a and remove the ball return. After that senate the box in two L shapes and should go right down. Again I'd look at the stairs way easier in most cases. Good luck with the project post a pic when your done.

Thanks Sam. I wish taking out the stairs was an option.

I’m pretty sure the bottom plywood is nailed together. I’ll have to take a look closer and see how to go about removing the nails. Any ideas would be great.

You can take anything, apart, even if it's not designed to be taken apart, problem is, putting it back together again, and a Valley table was not designed to be taken apart...just keep that in mind!

Assuming he took the legs off, you can't stand it on end or pick up one end and lean it
to take the corner a little at a time. I would figure if the slate fit the cabinet would also,
but I'm not there. Small doorways?
