I can’t bring myself to buy a 4th Kamui Glove

It really is the best glove that I have ever used. I do wish they would make a full finger or a longer finger version and eliminate the Velcro strap. However I can never get them to last more than a year. By my own mistake the first one I ordered a size smaller than what I should have but it...

Critical skills for cue repairs and building (newbie)

Thanks! I guess I could have cleaned the ferrule better before I waxed. Do I add white pigment or is that a particular type of 5min Epoxy? Sent from my iPhone using AzBilliards Forums

[ATTACH]alright, I changed my first ferrule and used a tip pad. Why do you think the ferrule discolored? Did I get sanding dust in the pores? Shooter 1= Stelzenmuller, Titleist conversion-Z2 Shooter 2= Bob Frey, Bacote sneaky

Critical skills for cue repairs and building (newbie)

Thanks for everyone's advice... I'll try to right the ship here, but I have already bought a Mid size cuesmith lathe and I'm looking for ways to practice building or repairs, reading material, website links, anything to improve my current skills. I understand that purchasing more/better...

Critical skills for cue repairs and building (newbie)

I’ve been practicing for at least 2 hours everyday now, working on tips and shaft reconditioning. Did you need to true up your lathe? I think I’m also going to learn that process this week. Either the old house cues I’m using (most likely) have bends in them or my tail stock is not perfectly...

Thanks everyone! Good idea to change the 3/8 tenon to a threaded one. I’m using a Mid Size Cuesmith, so I’m starting off with good equipment. [emoji106] Sent from my iPhone using AzBilliards Forums

Critical skills for cue repairs and building (newbie)

Okay, once I can’t bring myself to practice putting tips on house cues anymore. What would you recommend to move to next that is a bit more challenging. I’m thinking about buying some rod and trying to make some threaded ferrules. Shooter 1= Stelzenmuller, Titleist conversion-Z2 Shooter 2=...

The story of my Brunswick Titlist

Yea the $3 dollar barrel deal was quite the find. The conversion in total cost me under $200 and he built me a shaft. I've since upgraded to a predator z2 but all in all, i have under $400 in the cue with two shafts and an extension. It get's more attention than I do in the pool hall.

    Cuetec Bowtie Shaper

If you use the bowtie tool be sure to pay close attention around the ferrule. I personally would only use this tool by hand and not with the lathe. You could hold a nickle in a piece of sandpaper to give it shape and use the lathe if you want to shape the tip.
