Wouldn't some sort of epoxy be a better choice for something like this?

    Valley vs Valley Cougar

here's some info I was a little off on the year :) As Valley Co., the original company was founded by Bill Rickett in 1947 in Bay City, Michigan, where it remained under the auspices of a series of controlling companies including Kidde Inc., U.S. Industries and Fenway Partners with Rickett...

    Valley vs Valley Cougar

Valley was briefly owned by Brunswick, bought around 2005 maybe? But have since sold them. Remember the Brunswick Metro coin-ops? Brunswick looks, Valley playability, sadly.

    Another look at APA

I think your numbers are a tad off, I know there was over 700 8 ball teams last year plus 300 or so 9 ball teams not to mention the ladies team, with the 8 and 9 ball there is over 8,000 people right there. Plus I think the 260K membership number is actually 260k members ever, not current. (at...

Diamond 8 or GC pro 8

The Diamond 8 (45x90) is in between an 8' (44x88) and a Pro 8 (46x92) I highly doubt the difference would be noticeable if you have the same pocket dimensions especially since as Glen says the Diamond has a deeper slate which will play tighter.

    Leather Wrap

I don't think a leather wrap would be the answer to sweaty palms. Purell and a towel do wonders to keep your hands dry. Take it from me, I sweat like a whore in church when I play, I feel a linen wrap works best for sweaty hands, I don't think a leather wrap would have any benefits whatsoever...

    lathe modifications

Tips and ferrules can be done pretty easily with a mini lathe, just need some shaft collets and some sort of outboard bearing so the shaft doesn't wobble around, as far as making sneaky petes out of house cues I think you'll need a miracle.

    Deeper Sholf Solution?

Liner or not, bondo is not designed to be put on that thick and it's just asking for trouble, I thought the filler on the rails was kinda hacky myself but I didn't know the guy that well so I didn't feel like bursting his bubble lol.

    Deeper Sholf Solution?

I would think that Bondo applied that thickly would most likely crack. I overheard a guy at the pool hall saying he had a 1/4 or 1/2" strip of wood behind his cushions, said it shrunk the play area a little but also made the shelf deeper? Not sure how that would work as I never saw his table...
