Scott vs. Dippy Dave -- who do you trust?

In my opinion, when you live the life of a gambler you reap what you sow. Nothing good ever comes out of it. In this one particular situation I've seen people that may have gotten along just fine in the past totally ruin any chance of being friends again in the future. Which side do I believe...

    Question- about AZ's PG rating

Well, if a section like that was created it would have to be locked down to people over 21 only. That would take a lot of work and from what I've seen around here over the past few years I don't see anyone stepping up to take on that much responsibility. It is done though. I belong to a few...

A poll on Ages, How old are AZBers?

I'm 42. I saw a post from Smorg on page one so I'm not sure if I posted in this before or not. Oh well, as of February 12, 2010, I am 42. MULLY

The way it really went down

I don't know why Billy insists on 6 instead of 5. We're talking about a guy that couldn't win with the break, the 5, and the cue ball free after the break. If he can't win with that much of a handicap in 9-ball then I can't foresee him doing any damage in one pocket. Take it, Billy. MULLY

The way it really went down

I don't know anyone involved with this thread other than knowing Billy from Accu-Stats tapes. With that said, I can not comment on any of this. But, one thing interested me.... How bad do you have to suck to get a handicap like that and not win? I'm not a world beater by any stretch of the...

If You Could Only Have One...

Although I do love my current player, JMW, my all time favorite cue was a Paul Mottey that I mistakenly sold to a friend during a time when I thought I was finished with pool. I'd like to have it back. MULLY

Growing tired of playing my friend in pool

There's no easy way to tell someone they're being an ass. Especially if it's a friend. I'm guessing since you talked with him he may not approach you as often. I was going to suggest just getting into games before he has a chance to corner you. MULLY BTW, love the avatar

    Got my Magic Ball Rack!

I'm not exactly sure what a "Magic Rack" is but I'm guessing from the description that it's that thin plastic thing with the holes in it for the balls to rest on. We've been using those over here for a few years now and it's pretty much standard fare to go into a place and find them on the...

    Question about my stroking.

Disregard any advice. As long as you are comfortable that is all that matters. The balls have no idea whatsoever that your cue is touching your chin. Personal preference. Gary Spaeth played right handed but had a left dominant eye and he really cocked his head to one side when he shot. Looked...

New table, Guide to drawing on cloth?

Yeah, I'm not a fan of the "mark the inside of the rack" train of thought. Like I said before, anyone that has played large amounts of straight pool knows that a lot of times that break ball being in or out can be the width of a dick hair. hehe!! Sure, you may be able to eyeball it on the sides...

    A little advice please

I hit a bored point like that about 10 years ago and took up bowling. Glad I did too. Within 2 years I was up to a 190 average. Not pro material by a long shot but good enough to join leagues and tournaments. Best score to date is 283. MULLY haven't bowled in almost 2 years

Why is it, That one shot changes everything ?

I find a lot of times that my gear for the day gets determined real quick if I step to the table with a tough shot. If I make it I'm usually good to go. If I miss it I'm usually screwed for the evening. It really is mental. MULLY

New table, Guide to drawing on cloth?

If you're going to mark the rack area for straight pool I would suggest outlining the outside of the rack, not the inside. I think anyone that has played a lot of straight pool has seen where the ball can be in or out by just a hair. If you mark the inside of the rack you're not accounting for...

gripping further back on the cue, Bob Jewett comment

Don't the old instruction books from that era suggest gripping 3 to 4 fingers behind the balance point? I seem to remember seeing that somewhere. I can't do it though. MULLY

gripping further back on the cue, Bob Jewett comment

You know, Hu, I too hold my cue at the far end, usually on the butt cap. But, I'm 6'1 and with a wide stance it's unavoidable unless I want to feel pinched into my stance. I thought to rectify this problem that I would go with a 59in cue. Guess what, I still hold my cue pretty much at the far...
