Best glue to use for installing a new tip?

I have used Loctite QuickTite for quite a while, never had any problems. I do clamp the tip after gluing for about 15-20 minutes, then shape and finish. I have also used Duro Super Gel. which I have heard is also made by LocTite. Using the gel type is important - I tried some of the "Crazy...

Which Is Better? The '1' Or The '9' On The Spot?

It's a UPA rule, put in at their first (2002) event in Hampton, VA to stop Corey's soft break. If 3 balls do not pass the side pocket it is a foul. Walt in VA

    8-ball break

Actually, by APA rules Player A keeps trying until there is a legal break (ball pocketed or 4 balls to a rail) or there is a foul after the rack is struck. If Player A hits the rack without a legal break and then scratches, Player B breaks. But APA rules say "the rack must be struck before a...

    Case Question

My BR-2 has a leather exterior with a semi-rigid stiffening panel sewn into each side and a plush lining on the inside of the whole case. The envelopes that hold the butts/shafts are nylon, stitched to form tubes, but they are not individually padded...

    Case Question

I've used a Silver Fox BR-2 for years and really like it. The capacity is enormous; cost and weight are low. Another alternative would be to cut a 3" or so section of dowel that will slide into the tube easily and drop it in for a spacer. JAT Walt in VA

    Focus problem....

Great advice, IMO. When I first started playing league, I was so concerned about letting my team down, and what my teammates would think of my shot selection and execution, that my game went down the tubes due to the pressure I was putting on myself. When I realized this, I told myself I...

    Silver Fox case?

Like Joey, mine is the BR-2, and I haven't had any experience with their hard cases, but the pocket layout looks similar to mine, and you can carry a TON of stuff in them! Walt in VA

    Silver Fox case?

I have used one for 3 or 4 years, and like it because of the capacity; I carry two cues and a couple of extra shafts and have room for customer's cues I pick up for tip/repair work. Also, the pocket capacity is tremendous. The padded side panel stiffeners provide some protection if you don't...

    my "custom" cue made wrong

As Cueman pointed out, large inlays or points of holly are going to be much more attractive than Ivorine. Since you have a BEAUTIFUL cue, and you CAN accept the fact that it's not exactly to your design specs, the question seems to me to be WILL you accept it? If so, I would start...

    Bar Pool leagues

APA skill levels (S/L's) run from 1 (lowest) to 9 (highest) in 9-ball and 2 to 7 in 8-ball. New players play their first match as a S/L 4 for men or S/L 3 for women, and are moved up or down from there. Since the 7 and 9 S/L's are open-ended, they may have strong C+, B and A players there, but...

    moori tip:which to choose

I've been using the Talisman WB Hard tips for several years, just put on a Moori Med to try it. Good tip, but I'd agree with Flex - I'll probably go back to the Talisman WB when I re-tip. Love the hit, no mushroooming or need to fuss with it, and lasts forever. Walt in VA

    APA, Not for me.

Just FYI, under BCA rules, an early 8 is a loss. Also, if you make the 8 and scratch, it is a loss; if you scratch but the 8 doesn't fall, the 8 stays where it is and it's BIH to the other player. See Rules 4.19 and 4.20 under "Rules - 8 ball" at www.bca-pool.com/play Walt in VA

Searching: Rubber place matt to tapp ball's

Yep, as a matter of fact, the SARDINE GIZMO originally came with a similar "training template" for "training the cloth." Leaves a mine field for slow-rolled shots, but if somebody wants to do that to his own table.... Walt in VA
