played a whole team of 6s

He may or may not be a sand bagger, but I wouldn't call him one just because he broke & ran a rack. It is not beyond the ability of a 4 with a good layout to run a rack.

    Efren Retiring

To paraphrase and old saying... Old pool players never retire, they just fade away. I can think of very few pool players who have actually retired and I can't imagine Efren being one of those few. Yeah, age will lead to lack of energy and diminishing skills, but as long as his cash flow is...

    Checking the Rack

I just checked this out. Thirty bucks for a paper-bound book is a lot, but figuring he is self-published I can live with that, but another 7 bucks for shipping, handling, and insurance... come on now, it's just a book.

    Checking the Rack

I hear you man. I am meticulous about racking and everybody with a half decent break makes balls off my 9-ball rack. This I don't mind, but I find most people make a crappy rack, out of laziness or ignorance I like to think, and this gets under my skin. I wind up not making balls on the break...

awe and sympathy for you road players!

You might have a point if she was witty or had any writing ability. For my money if I want to read an interesting witty road trip story I'll stick with OMGWTF's blog. That girl can write.

    Shy but wants to play

You have pin pointed what I think is one of the major stumbling blocks to the growth of pool. People, male and female, who want to start and aren't good are intimated. This is an attitude that is fostered when people here and elsewhere talk about nits, hacks, and bangers. You've got to just...

Negative Post Don't Help The Game

Should there be a new aiming sub forum?

I voted yes just to get rid of constant threads which are of minimal interest.

Cowboy Jimmy Moore - Obviously Using Center to Edge

LOL. I've enjoyed calls from Hal and suppose have absorbed some of his aiming techniques though I don't think about them when I shoot, but it is clear to me when I have listened to him he is not adverse to embellishing reality. Steve. <== Likes Hal, but takes his stories with a grain of salt.

    What is Memorial Day?

I met my best friend when I was 2 years old, we moved next door to him. Eighteen years later Feb 26, 1967 he died in Vietnam, I remember and honor him to this day. I'm of mixed opinion about whether we (and him by extension) should have been there, but regardless he and all other Americans who...

Negative Post Don't Help The Game

Red cloth sucks and people should say so. A lot of people myself including though not color blind have difficulty seeing properly against a red background. The edges of the balls tend to get a little lost. Besides that where there is red cloth there is red chalk which will wind up on your hands...

Trick Shots on ESPN - lame

Trick shot competitions are just plain DUMB and speed pool isn't much better. However, evidently the general tv viewing audience disagrees. Pool is basically a boring entertainment unless you're a person who plays it regularly and more importantly understands the right way to play.

Portugal rullez BCA - Las Vegas

Don't forget the Azores, they're part of Portugal too. I sometimes feel like I'm in Portugal when my soccer team plays, I hear more Portuguese than English (and a lot of it not very kind, lol).

    Tom McGonagle Wins the Seniors!

Way to go Tom, carry the Mass banner high. First you winning the Seniors, then the Celtics will win the NBA championship. Seriously congrats, you deserve it. Steve.<== A significantly less talented senior.

    If the Riv goes down

I'm thinking even further east. I don't gamble, drink, or do hookers, take that away and Vegas is just a bunch of lights.

Live Stream of Borana and OMGWTF this Saturday (MAY 15th)

First of all, thanks for this Lenny. Too late for me though, that's midnight here and I've got to be up early to play soccer Sunday. Good luck to both, but in a race to 21 I don't think luck will be a factor.

    Corey's nickname

I consider it in the same category as Sugar Ray Leonard. There was only one "Sugar Ray" and his name was Robinson, it was a travesty to give that nickname to Leonard who couldn't carry Sugar Ray's jock strap.

Stevie Moore's Rules argument with Justin

Too me this whole thread and the luck vs. no-luck argument is just a "tempest in a teapot". This is the same argument they have about APA 8-ball. Hack or pro allowing luck makes very little, if any, difference in the final outcome of a match. The better the competitors the less difference...
