Real Ivory: Pricing in the US

So my understanding is that ivory in cues... means the cue cannot be shipped anywhere except within the country's borders... no ivory inlaid cues can be shipped outside the US and no ivory inlaid cue can be brought in to the US... Am I right on this? What percentage of cuemakers abide by the law?

What's the BS with alternate & soft break?

I don't like the alternate break format. It gives too much opportunity to a lesser player... the elimination and knockout stages could attest to that... it also eliminates the strength of a stronger player... can't get the rhythm and groove going... Losing a rack, still have a chance 'coz...

    Hanging wood

My shafts start as boards then cut up into squares... squares are just store racked up in piles. After the first turn I stand 'em in a rack where they stay after quite a number of turns spanning months... I start hanging shfts when they are aroungf .890 until finished.

    Philippinos

There are quite a few matches going on in the hall and some spectators watch whatever player interests them. I've seen the same scenario when the WPC was held in Cardiff... when no big name player was in the tv table, lots of vacant seats. During the KO stages I think there will be much better...

    My first cues

That's excellent work for the machinery you have... speaks of a lot of talent in the making. What'd you use to make the inlays?

    How long can you go?

The longest I've made is 63"... one of my shooting cues is 62" long. If the weight is distributed properly and balanced well, it'll feel just like a normal 58" cue. Still it depends on the variables like wood choice, balance point etc. but nothing that can't be done.
