Types Of Ferrules On Snooker Cues?

My Snooker doesn't have a Brass ferrule, but I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night. Actually, I had Tom Coker craft a 30" Snooker Shaft of Ash (11mm), with LBM ferrule, 3/8 × 10 , that I use on one of my Alex Brick Cues. It plays Fantastic !!!

    Attn; John Barton !!!

Yes, NO real action near the end. I was lucky to get a game for $2.00 + table time. My routine was Sleep until Noon or later, make the rounds looking for a game, show up at Circus around Midnight, purchase a "jar of beans" from the local Pharmacist, and play 1-hole for 36 hrs. straight. Aah...

    Attn; John Barton !!!

Just as I figured, but you know how full-o-shit the average rail bird is. That tall tale originated from Circus Billiards. Lots of drugs found their way in and out of that place in those days.

    Attn; John Barton !!!

Yes, yes .... we want to hear some Herman the German stories. Dick, I remember hearing a "Doosey of a Story" about You being held for ransom in Las Vegas after you played some Asian guy and couldn't pay. That story was going around back in the late 1960's, but I didn't put much stock in it. Any...

    ………….

I was at the top of my game in the 1960's, practiced every day, with a goal of running at least a hundred straight. It was the 1965 U. S. Navy Straight Pool Championship and, in the semi-finals, my opponent broke nervously leaving me a decent shot and breakout opportunity. From there I was able...

    Longer cue

One of our League players is 6' 4" or so, and had Jim Pierce build him a 32" Butt and 32" Shaft. His game has improved a lot over the past year. I am 5' 10" and been playing with 60" Cues (30/30) for at least 10 years. Also have a 2.5" Ebony Extension that I use on my Jerry -R- Cue and seem to...

    ………….

Threads like this are what initially drew me to AZB. When I recover from my medical issues (hopefully by June) I will make a concerted effort to bring my 14.1 game up a few notches. Would be great to best my previous High Run of 236 (in Tournament Competition 1965).

Where is the pool bar scene still very active (popular among the general public)?

The Bar Pool Scene is historically strong in areas where continued bad weather prevails. The Midwest (Upper/Lower), the Northeast and Northwest in particular are strong in Bar League participation. Here in the greater Sacramento area, the weather is generally moderate enough for outdoor activity...

    History of the IPT

It was worth the price of VIP seats at the Finals in Reno just to see Tony Chohan in a new suit, with tie and dress shoes. Talk about a fish out of water. Rafael Martinez wasn't looking too happy either, in his waay tooo big suit.

Who played 9ball... before Texas Express rules was the norm?

Mid-90's, a local C & W bar held a 9-ball tourney every Saturday at Noon. $5 entry, $50 added for 20 or more players. Standard 9-Ball rules apply. "Most" players attempted to run the rack, shoot obvious combos/caroms. However, the owner (an accomplished player) and a few others always slammed...
