    The Grip

I feel the grip is one of the most underrated aspects to how well a person can play. It can make all the difference in how good you hit the ball. A minor undetected change in your grip can cause you to play bad, and can contribute to someone being completly out of stroke. What type of grip do...

BCA Hall Of SHAME: No Ronnie Allen?

People need to learn to disregard the lifestyle and attitude of great players, and recognize their ability at the table when it comes to induction into the hall of fame. Ronnie Allen is by far the best one pocket player I've seen play in the flesh. Efren is up there too, but in my humble opinion...

    Hustlers and Hustling

There are two types of hustling. There is small-time hustling, and big-time hustling. Small timers do exactly what everyone described, they find a fish, make someone an offer they can't refuse, and win a few hundred bucks. Big-time hustling can take days or even months to get the prize fish...

    Innapropriate player behavior

Rick I don't mind some grammar criticism when I'm wrong. By deficate I just meant going to the bathroom, not urinating in particular.

    Innapropriate player behavior

Let me get this straight, this lady exposed herself, and then proceeded to urinate on the floor in front of everyone? Why didn't anyone kick this lady out of the place? I think it's very illegal to deficate the floor of any public establishment.

    My Best 9-Ball Run Ever!

What you said is a pretty good break. If you are playing on tables where you can't seem to get the wing balls to fall, practice pocketing the 1 in the side with a cut break, problem is it's tough to control the CB that way.

    My Best 9-Ball Run Ever!

Oh one more thing, you may also want to experiment with not dropping your elbow on the break, some do, some don't, see what works for you.

    My Best 9-Ball Run Ever!

My thoughts on a 9-ball break.... If anyone ever tries to teach you a "power break" don't listen to them. The break is all about speed, not power. Try not to listen to those chumps who tell you to sway your body back and forth in your practice strokes, all that's gonna accomplish is the most...

    LA Area?

Hard Times in Bellflower, Shooters in Riverside, Billiard Connection in Northridge, Hollywood Billiards in Hollywood. Those are the only places I went to that had some action going on.

How long do your skills last?

Don't worry if you can't play often. You sound like a smart guy who knows alot for the 4 years you've been playing. Finish school, make some good money, and get some good action. That's the best way to improve, gambling on your own money.

    A Funny Story

This is a funny story about Mark Tad I heard a few years ago, it's a classic. Years ago when Mark Tad was one of the best players in the west coast, a road player came in the poolroom he was at, and asked immediately if anybody wanted to play some 9-ball for $1000. One by one everyone in the...

    My Best 9-Ball Run Ever!

If you can run 2's and 3's, the only thing that's stopping you from running 5 and 6 packs is your break. Once you get your game to a certain level where an open shot spells a won game for you, start paying attention to the rack; learn where to break from, and most importantly, try to keep the CB...

2002 US Open Earl vs Alex

Bravo! I must commend you on what tremendous courage it took for you to anonymously mock the performances of two players who can give you the 5-ball and half-heartedly send you to the cleaners. It's called pressure. Try playing with someone capable of running out the entire match if you miss a...

Must read book : Playing Off the Rail

It is a very good book, although not all of it is true. Some players that the author claimed Annigoni beat he actually never has beaten. Tony is a very nice guy and a great player, but the book pissed off quite a few players whos names were used in a few fairy tales told in the book, mine...
