Carbon Fiber with draw.....Measles vs Red Circle

This has been my experience. Since I returned to pool a measle ball is what I’ve been using. Been going to a pool hall lately with red circle cue balls. I find they have more action and roll faster. I suspect it weighs slightly less and may be smaller. Sent from my iPhone using AzBilliards Forums

    Help picking a cue

I think this is good advice. Get an idea of what you like. I personally gravitate to flat faced big pin cues on the stiffer side. Currently I’m playing a Josey sneaky flat face radial pin which I like but think I’d like a little stiffer. So I made the decision to change cues. Based on past...

The path to pool progress leads beyond the four rails

Excellent post. Coincidentally as I was examining how I’m going to become a better player over the past few weeks, getting my life outside of pool to be my best at pool, has come up repeatedly in my thoughts. Taking instruction from you also on my mind. Sent from my iPhone using AzBilliards Forums

    Finally got a Gold Crown!!!

Having a 9’ Gold Crown and the proper space for it was always a desire for me. One of my most cherished acquisitions. Congrats on getting yours! Sent from my iPhone using AzBilliards Forums

    Bender, Howard or Blue Grass?

Thanks, a Howard is definitely on my radar but for right now I’ll focus on the Bender. I’ll play my Monday night league with the Josey. Tuesday the Josey will go back to Keith to be refaced forcing me to play exclusively with the Bender. I’ll have a good idea how I feel about the Bender by the...

    Bender, Howard or Blue Grass?

You are correct about Tiger Woods and doing well with any set of clubs but I'm sure he prefers a certain set. Also there's a lot to it's the Indian not the arrow. Right now I'm thinking about switching cues to something I think I'd like better. Although I do admit I have a certain reluctance...

    Bender, Howard or Blue Grass?

That’s a good question and it does concern me. Here’s some back story. First this is my second go around playing pool after a near decade of not playing. When I was playing before I got to the point that the A players were taking notice and I was improving. My player at the time was a South...

    Bender, Howard or Blue Grass?

Currently playing with a Josey and want to change it up. Before I started playing again I used a South West. I’ve hit a couple DPK/Omegas which I like. Hit a modern Bender it’s stiffer than the DPKs I’ve hit but nice. Had a couple of Blue Grass cues they’ve come and gone. Never even seen a...

A bit about me and my 35yr roundabout journey to a custom cue

Beautiful cue! I can relate to the preference of linen over leather. I’m going take a leather wrapped cue for a test drive in a few days. I’m trying to keep an open mind but I’m a wrappless fan and have had a linen wrapped player. Sent from my iPhone using AzBilliards Forums

    Super Nice Scruggs Sneaky

This cue came from the original owner who bought it directly from Tim in 2000. It’s seen very little use. Has 1 original shaft 13.25mm approximately 4.2oz with a Thoroughbred medium/hard tip with less than a rack of play. The second shaft is an OB low deflection. The butt has 3 small marks on...

    Super Nice Scruggs Sneaky

This cue came from the original owner who bought it directly from Tim in 2000. It’s seen little use. Has 1 original shaft that’s straight and smooth. 13.25mm and approximately 4.2 oz with a Thoroughbred Medium/Hard tip with less than a rack of play. The second shaft is an OB low deflection. The...

    Where's Glen Hancock (Therealkingcobra)?!?

Very generous and kind of you. The original poster has gone a long time without his table. I’m sure he’d like to be playing on it. Thanks for stepping up. If my pool table was not functional I’d be besides myself. Playing on mine is part of my daily routine. I’m going to want new cloth on my...

    Where's Glen Hancock (Therealkingcobra)?!?

This is really disheartening. I wish it didn’t have to be so difficult to get quality and punctual work done on a Gold Crown. Fortunately I had Mark Gregory do my rails. It was a pain in the ass to box them up and ship them but they got done. Very nicely too. The next trick was getting someone...

What is the Difference between solid wood joint and metal joint

Excellent info on your link. I personally seem to prefer a flat faced big pin joint. In all fairness if I pick up a cue and like it no matter what the joint is I can start using it. I’ll adjust to it. Currently my player is a Josey sneaky. It’s a radial pin with 13mm shaft. I’ve shot with it...

    Opinions Ebony vs Birds Eye

I know I like maple forearms. I know I don’t like cocobolo forearms or at least the one I had. I had an ebony nosed predate Southwest. I liked it a lot and wish I still had it. I’m sure you’ll be happy with the ebony Tasc. Sent from my iPhone using AzBilliards Forums
