    Hiow Do You replace Cushions

Is replacing cushions a one trip job for a mechanic or two? I'm curious if the glue needs curing time overnight before putting the cloth on.

    Okay. Thanks, Glen.

    Gold Crown IV Cushions/Replacements

Glen, that's exactly right about my playing surface. I measured it earlier today, and the dimensions are what you list above. In the 2nd photo above, does it appear that the rubber is hanging over the bottom back angle bevel? It looks like the rubber has a more severe downward curve on the top...

    Gold Crown IV Cushions/Replacements

The seller said he only extended the rails. He didn't do any changes in bevel. Does it look like the bevel was changed? If so, it would have been done by the previous owner. Anyway, the distance from nose to edge of formica is 2 1/8". Here's a photo of a ball beside a rail:

    Gold Crown IV Cushions/Replacements

The strange thing is that I bought this table with the cushions recently replaced, but the rubber wasn't the highest quality. However, when I measure from bed to nose, the measurement appears to be 1 7/16" which I've read is correct. Yes? Also, do you think that most pool halls with old Gold...

    Gold Crown IV Cushions/Replacements

Okay, thanks. So if someone with a Gold Crown 1 wanted to change his cushion rubber without any subrail revisions, from best to worst for playability and not trapping or launching balls, how would you rank the following? A) Artemis hump side up B) Artemis hump side down C) Brunswick Super Speed...

    2017 14.1 challenge?

Nice shooting! And that Do It Like Efren clip in your signature is amazing! Man I wish I had your eye!

    Gold Crown IV Cushions/Replacements

I have a similar question. Are there any cushions out there with an exact or at least "close enough as to not trap balls" profile shape match to the *original* Brunswick Super Speed cushions so that they fit a Gold Crown I without subrail revisions?

Thanks for the explanation, poolmanis. I see what you mean.

Do you think the shot on the 11 is straight enough to hold it for the 4 in the side? I felt it was just a little too much angle to hold the cue ball there. But maybe cheating the pocket?

I realize that this one's a little touchy, and may not go as cleanly as the other ones. Just to let everyone know, I scan a YouTube video until I see what might be a good layout, and then I don't look past that point to see what the player actually does with it. That would be no fun for me. I...

Here's what Johnny Archer did with these balls. It looks like he was following the Dan/Poolmanis/Dennis plan but got too straight on the 6. at 8:45 https://youtu.be/wKtwakx0ThI?t=8m45s

That's funny, Dennis. I wonder how many of us would run more balls if we just took the time to find better patterns.

Right John. I guess we like the torture of such a difficult game. Then again, difficulty is relative. I guess it all depends upon what our goals are in playing it. It's like easy and hard crossword puzzles. Some people like easy ones. Then there are people like me who need to know that I'm...

I hear ya, Dan. Thanks. It's the touchiest shot in my pattern, I agree. I'm pretty confident I wouldn't scratch on a shot like that though. My speed control on the other hand could get me into trouble on that shot. Looking at the shot again, I'm changing my mind about playing it off of the left...
