Now see if you can bank the cue ball 9 rails around the table and 5 times down and back the length of it.
I have reconfigured sub-rails with Artemis cushions and 860, I can get 9 rails around but only 4 1/2 to 4 3/4 lengths up and down the table.

Freeze and finish the shot without looking away.
IMO: This is because of the slide in the cloth as well. When the cue ball contacts the edge of the object ball it pushes it towards the rail. Normally, on broken in cloth, the object ball is moving fairly slow and the friction makes the ball roll almost immediately. On new cloth, the object ball will slide (towards the rail) and friction takes over later. I will guess when you miss these shots it appears that you are under cutting them. Is that the case? Just play through it until the cloth is broken in. It will be fine soon.
Does any high-quality company out there offer an exact profile shape match to the modern Brunswick Super Speed cushions?

https://www.pooltablefeltcloth.com/brunswick-rail-cushions/product/superspeed-k55-rail.htmlI have a similar question. Are there any cushions out there with an exact or at least "close enough as to not trap balls" profile shape match to the *original* Brunswick Super Speed cushions so that they fit a Gold Crown I without subrail revisions?

I also had Jerimy Chambers install Artemis intercontinental cushions ( He said it should be my preference. There is a slight more spring to the artemis then the super speeds...that's all) and perform the sub - rail modifications necessary in order to have my GC IV converted to pro - cut pocket dimensions. I couldn't be happier with the table.I had Jerimy Chambers install Artemis Intercontinental cushions and perform the subrail modifications necessary in order to have my GC IV converted to pro-cut pocket dimensions. Jerimy operates out of Chicago (so not sure how close that is to you), but I would highly recommend him.
I have re-config'd GC II with Artemis K55 and it banks like crap.
The number of rails do not matter as much as accuracy imo.
How would one-hole players like banking frozen ball less than a diamond from the opposite pocket?![]()
Stop whining and send your rails to Mark.
Okay, thanks. So if someone with a Gold Crown 1 wanted to change his cushion rubber without any subrail revisions, from best to worst for playability and not trapping or launching balls, how would you rank the following?
A) Artemis hump side up
B) Artemis hump side down
C) Brunswick Super Speed
D) Diamond Blacks
E) Klematch
Thank you.
You're in a tough bind. GC 1 just like my GC 2 had Monarch cushions.
Not the same as K55.
It's best to get it re-profiled. That'll get you tighter pockets too.
Good luck.
Were the rails ran through a table saw to change the bevel? If so, isn't that changing the factory specs? From the nose of the cushions to the edge of the formica....what does that measure?
The seller said he only extended the rails. He didn't do any changes in bevel. Does it look like the bevel was changed? If so, it would have been done by the previous owner. Anyway, the distance from nose to edge of formica is 2 1/8".
Here's a photo of a ball beside a rail:

2 1/8" wide means the playing surface is going to be 49 3/4" x 99 3/4".....instead of 50"×100". Some of the cushion is hanging over the bottom back angle bevel which means the part of the cushion over hanging is not bonded to the sub rail which in most cases results in the bottom side of the cushions coming unglued down the road. I doubt any miter angles were changed to if you use a miter gage you may find that the miter angles or not the same on both sides of the corner pockets. In the side pockets the factory ear that fits under the castings are normally not the same if you measure both sides. You measure them from the furthest out point of the extension to the formica at the end of the rail at the side pocket.if they're not the same length the center pocket won't look centered when the rails are mounted.
