    Unluckiest scratch ever?

This one would be surely up for consideration as the worst scratch ever. Game and match! https://youtu.be/e0Pw4-g7sOs Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Unluckiest scratch ever?

You are probably right but the thing is he wanted to draw so difficult to call it the “unluckiest scratch ever” Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Unluckiest scratch ever?

I think he was trying to draw off the pack to the cushion with reverse for the blue or a balk colour (look how low he was aiming at the CB). At that pace, no way he was playing for the black. He totally mis-hit the CB though as it acquired a follow rather than a draw (he wouldn’t have jacked up...

    Incident at the pool room

There are always two sides to a story. If that’s all that happened, I think he was wrong for not paying for the table time. In my pool room an attendant/manager would turn the lights on if someone starts banging the balls around, and this is only fair. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    The Pro Billiards Tour

I should have some time to spare second half of January and will try to go through my old magazines and post up some info. There were some great matches on the tour - Davenport coming back from 4-10 against Archer (semis of 1994 I think) and the neck-and-neck race between Reyes and Rempe (1996)...

    Cues for sale

Acuerate is a Belgian made cue. I think Luca Brecel used to play with one. Snooker pros don’t seem to rate them high. They sell for around EUR 200-400 new Edit: this is an older 147 cue. The new model sells for EUR 445 (https://www.acuerate.be/cues/3-4-joint-snooker-cues/New-147/) Sent from my...

    Cues for sale

Peradon Victor and Lewis&Wilson are cheap mass produced snooker cues. I’ve never seen that HW logo before so am curious myself. John Parris is the best known cue maker of snooker cues, with a waitlist of around 2 years. Most championships were won with his cues. Depending on the specs and...

    Greatest cue makers

There was the whole issue of On The Snap dedicated to cue collecting (May-91 methinks) and I vividly remember Denny Glenn being quoted to say that no one has ever made a better cue than Bill Stroud. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

if you dont play it and cant watch onepocket

I stand corrected then. I didn’t know there had been the Legends tournaments other than those four recorded by Accu-stats. In the first one which was also held in Columbia, SC Grady introduced a rule of one intentional per game which raised quite a bit of controversy among players (e.g. how...

if you dont play it and cant watch onepocket

That could be an option. You are right, giving any ball is sometimes too big an advantage but equally you just don’t take a scratch in those situations Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

if you dont play it and cant watch onepocket

I like this rule but I don’t think Grady ever came round to implementing it in any of his Legends tourneys. I also like moving scores forwards only (i.e. if you take an intentional, your opponent takes any ball and puts it on his shelf but has to shoot). Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    One pocket question

That match defo springs to mind as far as unconventional break is concerned. Seeing a complete dismay on Daulton’s face is worth the price of the DVD alone. What is more surprising is that Corey won that match! It was 2000 Worlds (1P00-06 is the ref in the Accu-stats catalogue). There are a...

How is Mike Sigel NOT in Straight Pool Hall of Fame?

That is definitely right. I have a DVD of that match. He also ran 109 against Cisero Murphy in the previous match and 109 and out against Ortmann in an earlier match. It was a great tournament. Archer ran 150 & out against Carter and Miz ran 134(?) and out in his first match of the tournament...

    Mosconi Cup 2020

That is quite slow by English standards Bob. :) Tickets for Crucible (World Snooker Championship) usually sell out in minutes. The venue is a bit smaller, though (just over 900 seats) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Mosconi Cup 2020

Wow, that sounds more like Edinburgh to me lol. Guess I am just used to it. By the way, it's 49F today and a great sunny day! It has not been raining since weekend. I'm all booked up for Mosconi Cup 2020 and looking forward to it!

    Mosconi Cup 2020

Great news AFAIC! There's never been a White Christmas over here in London that I remember :( It does snow occasionally but it melts away very quickly. It's usually around 50F (been 45F today) so not too bad compared to some areas stateside! Hotels are pricey indeed but Ally Pally is no...

Hubert L. "Daddy Warbucks" Cokes in jail 1964 newspaper clipping

It must be right Jay. I thought it was on Pete Fusco vs Varner tape from Roanoke 1994 but it must be a different one. I watched Dobrowolski-Hall match from Roanoke 1995 yesterday (Buddy and Steve do a voice-over player review) and Buddy said that he owed his one pocket knowledge to Eddie Taylor.
