    Wold Cup of Pool *LIVE*

And ESPN also has the replays available on demand if you can't watch it live.

    Wold Cup of Pool *LIVE*

I thought ESPN 3 was streaming it. Probably less chance of having to deal with malware there.

I'll Take A Poor Looking Stroke That Works

I agree. After all, one of those was good enough for Allen Hopkins. ;) j/k

Let's talk about the measles ball

The measle ball is weight matched? If you are buying the CB ball separately, weight matched to what exactly?

Who best to head a new Players org?

It would help if the candidate was on the Forbes 400 list.

Getting money back into the sport - What is currently being done?

I don't know if anything is being done but nothing has been done, that's for sure.

    Squatting The Rock

It seems to me parking the cue ball at center table is a somewhat new technique, perhaps coming into favor with the soft break. Also, in regards to tracking how often the pros actually do this you really need to take into consideration how many times the cue ball gets kicked by an object ball...

    Reyes-Bustamante 8-ball safety battle

There was another epic safety battle in 8 Ball in a TAR match between Schmidt and Deuel. I tried to find it but don't believe it's available as it was PPV. It was a truly great 40+ minute game though.

A Question for those that have ordered a custom cue...

It depends. To me having a one of one is not necessarily the whole point of ordering a custom cue. In fact, I've yet to buy a cue for that reason. But since the "whole point" for you was to own a one of one and that is what you were after (and expecting), no I wouldn't accept the cue if I was...

    mark up on pool products

As far as tips go, they do seem to be somewhat price inelastic. Probably because even at $20 it isn't that expensive considering you may only need to buy one a couple times a year. So if a player finds a particular $20 tip gives him the most confidence/spin/control then he'll pay the price...

I don't consider pool on a bar table to be pool

Having grown up with the game in pool halls and not bars I didn't think so either. I was wrong. It's different and I much prefer the big track, but it's pool.

Magic Rack to be used at US Open?

My biggest peeve about templates in tournaments is they make it easier for the players to pattern rack because they are placing balls individually, so they grab the one they need for each spot in the rack. On the flip side they do speed up play and eliminate at least some of the other racking...

I'd like to suggest that you try this rack....

LOL, got that straight, Renfro. No nits allowed in my home though and the balls and cloth are kept in excellent condition. ;)

I'd like to suggest that you try this rack....

Also, as far as the racking area for straight pool is concerned, the only significance really is in the rear where the extra finger space is. The areas to the sides of the rack are affected mainly by the thickness of the racks walls. Neither the Delta nor this rack appear to have super fat...

    Ginacue Question

Ernie was retired from cue making from about '73 - '88. He spend much of that time designing parts and systems for airplanes, motorcycles, and race cars. His shop is one of the more incredible ones you'll see and he designed and built many (if not virtually all) the machines himself. He's an...

Money in Pool - there should be none?

The way I see it is there should be money in pool if the market so dictates. These days the market has not seen it that way so there isn't. In that sense there shouldn't be. There are a lot of activities that some subset of the population loves to pursue that doesn't provide a living for a...
