    Brunswick Billiards is now...?

Sounds promising actually. LF seems the more current/relevant/contemporary division. They are known for quality products and appear to be growing. Hopefully they will infuse some needed energy into a billiards division that seems to have been operating on cruise control for years.

    Carpet or no Carpet?

I'm not a mechanic, but I am a table owner. I'd put down some carpet. The first time you or a guest drops their cue (and it will happen) you'll be happy you did. It is also generally quieter.

Help Tony Chohan Adjust-Changes to Pool in the Last 5 Years

Yeah, and at the same time pro pool is apparently played on bar boxes.

    Another Rule Question - Sorry!

The WPA World Standardized Rules were adopted by the BCA in their entirety. The rule in 9 Ball is pretty clear, an illegal break is a foul. A foul in 9 Ball results in BIH. This situation happens on occasion (usually a miscue) and there is at least one standard play for the incoming player in...

    Hard, Medium, Soft?

My own experience is it largely comes down to feel. There are some who claim a softer tip will produce more action and others that believe a hard tip will. Those in the soft tip camp assert it is because a soft tip holds chalk better and stays on the cue ball longer. Others believe that a hard...

Is this Main Forum cluttered by threads

Probably but I don't get bogged down by it much since I pretty much use the "NEW" tab, so I'm gonna have to scroll through all of them anyway even if they were in different sub-forums. But that way I hit every thread with a post I haven't seen yet in one click, including the main forum and my...

    Hard case VS soft case

Not an issue for me. Hard or soft case, it would not get checked by itself. Cue and case always gets packed inside my luggage. Now I have heard of some packing their cue in the luggage and carrying the empty case on board, but why bother?

Is a legit world pool tour starting to emerge?

And they don't even do that. If I'm not mistaken they simply sanction an event but they aren't the ones who "put it on".

My New Guerra Cue BEM and Thuya Burl

    Is Tony doing matching JPs?

Which will make the cue ball travel farther...?

For any given stroke speed I'd say the harder tip will transfer more energy so I'll go with that one. Don't think the shaft matters that much simply because you're hitting it on the end, not on the side like a baseball bat. If the shaft is so soft that it would bend or vibrate too much as to...

    Hard case VS soft case

Like many here I have some of both - hard cases and butterfly style soft cases. I'll use a hard case when traveling of course. Also use a hard case for league so that I can toss it under the table and not worry if someone else throws their gear on top of it. I'll often go with a soft case for...

5 things I learned at the 2015 USBTC

I kind of like events like this. I figure my entry fee is long gone, I'm not expected to do progress very far so I've got nothing to lose. It's essentially a free roll for me. Let my calm demeanor make the opponent feel nervous and overwhelmed. :D BTW, you are correct, CSI events are very...

Can we examine room/table size in a different way?

I'm with Frank on this (not surprising). As long as we're looking at it from a different angle, let's look at it this way - would you enjoy having a table at home that comes with even the occasional obstructed shot? Most will answer "no" to that question.

The stream at world 10 ball in PHI is horrible!

It's a shame really, but every link I've clicked on is unwatchable. So I haven't.

    SVB Softening Up?

Yeah, Shane is getting soft. I suggest you get in the box with him. On the off-chance he doesn't duck you it should make for a nice pay day. The guy is the defending champ in two events I believe and is honoring a commitment to defend. Honor and commitment...look them up. I commend him for it.

Do you bother with a chalk holder at home???

I don't bother with a chalk holder at home or otherwise. If it walks or I forget it somewhere, it's just chalk.

    PacMan Tourney up and running

I'd love to see him go after a WC too but if he is honoring a commitment to be there to defend his titles, I respect that.

Most balls on 10 ball break?

If only you could transfer your ability to break in the money ball to 9 Ball where it counted, you'd be a monster.

Pretty cool ebony wrapless Ginacue: 3 piece segmented handle

All of Ernie's cues hit like beasts AND have that trademark attention to detail. I played with Orcollo just before the Derby and let him try my main player, a simple 17A. He liked it a lot,,,a real lot. ;) But the Ginas that come into your hands are off the menu works of art.

    PacMan Tourney up and running

There was a pop up in that stream for a specific match, but it was completely unwatchable. Meh.
