    Hard Times Bellflower

If you want to learn the game that would be a good way to do it. Just hanging around and watching the all the matches while you wait or after you're out would be worth the time.

    Least damaging bridge head

I use a Tiger Corona leather bridge. Classic style but won't scratch your cue. Fits on any cue and stores flat and takes up almost no room in your case.

When did pro players started needing backers (for tournaments and everything else)?

Pro pool players don't make as much as you apparently think they do, especially considering the expenses involved. Just how many millions do you think Shane has made?

What is the closest an amateur level player has ever come to winning an event at DCC?

All the various break rules seem to come with their own limitations. I noticed the last Mosconi Cup simply did away with them altogether.

    Magic Rack - Pet Peeve

Yep, as long as several balls won't be disturbed, just remove the ball in question and re-place it. Heck, you're allowed to mark and replace your ball on the putting green in a PGA tour event and they're playing for a considerable amount of coinage. I've never had a problem offering to get the...

    Magic Rack - Pet Peeve

As far as the rack interfering goes I have had no problem to offer my opponent help in getting it off the table. Of course, the offer would only be done at an appropriate time when it wouldn't interfere with his process, like say when he's putting down his break cue and picking up his player...

    Tournament Venues

Wow, a nose bleed section at a cue sports event! :D

Why Do Promoters & Players Dislike 15 ball rotation?

Except that every table at the tournament would have to have a big ass scoreboard readable from everywhere. Not sure how long the average game takes but there may also be the problem of time, which in the case of American Rotation could only be offset by shorter races, maybe much shorter.

What is the closest an amateur level player has ever come to winning an event at DCC?

Hey, what can I say, even a stopped clock is right twice a day. That was a perfect example of an amateur playing out of his mind, coupled with the better player performing down to the level of his competition. ;)

What is the closest an amateur level player has ever come to winning an event at DCC?

Amateur level? Probably never. A top amateur playing at his best or over his head, maybe.

So why was the Derby 9ball race changed from 7 to 9 again?

Honestly, I think the demise of the Louie Roberts Award is more of a bummer to the character of the Derby than this change in the 9 Ball race length.

So why was the Derby 9ball race changed from 7 to 9 again?

I hardly think the Derby has lost it soul over this.

Cyclop, Super Aramith, or Centennial Balls?

The Centennials are made for Brunswick by Saluc. I can only venture a guess that the reason they sell for more is because Brunswick sets a higher wholesale price for them than Saluc does for the Super Aramith Pros. This is from the Saluc website: Yeah, the first sentence is incomplete but...

Cyclop, Super Aramith, or Centennial Balls?

There's really two choices there since aside from the graphics the Super Aramith Pros and the Centennials are the same balls. I've not played the Cyclops but I've read quite mixed reviews. Not very many players don't like the other two sets. I'd sort of agree with this. The reason I prefer...

Your favorite cue builder, if you can only have one cue you have played with

Aside from my league beater I've been playing Gina for 50 years. Still have each of them, including that first one. There are a lot of good cues at just about all price points. Gina is just my choice. ;)

    Bad Gateway error

It's been happening to me again as well in Firefox, but only on AZB. All other forums and websites are fine. So it seems as though it must somehow be related to AZB. This was one of the few threads I've been able to get into. I'm also pretty sure when I hit "submit reply" now it will give me a...

How long should billiard balls last?

When it gets to the point you can recognize a particular cue ball because of its unique shape it's probably time to change it out. :grin-square:
