    New balls

Did the set come with a cue ball? The standard Premier set comes with a cue ball with no logo.

    New balls

I'd expect they'd play OK since they are Aramith balls but I wouldn't expect them to play like a top of the line ball since they are apparently the Premier line, which is down the scale of Aramith balls (Tournaments>Super Pros>Premium>Premier). You'd probably would substitute a better cue ball...

Clean Chalk off Cue Tip before putting back in case?

I wipe down the shaft, get the chalk off the the tip and clean the ferrule. I just take care of my stuff, especially my tools.

    Q claw

I have the Qclaw and it works but I also prefer the Porper because it's a cue holder and not just a rest, and it allows you to store the cues perfectly vertical. Every week at league you can hear at least one cue hit the floor, having fallen or getting bumped out of its rest. I use the 5 cue...

    Talking End Patterns

According to the responses I'm guessing it is unclear whether that ball up table is the 7 or the 8. BTW, I could view the video either.

    New balls

It would be very cool if they were available in the Super Pro or Tournament compounds.

Do You Play Any on Bar Tables?

Nope. Don't hang out in bars. Have a 9' table at home and my BCAPL league and APA masters league are both played on the big track. Haven't played in league nationals but obviously if I did, that would be on the bar box.

Rule on ball frozen to rail

The short answer is that the BCAPL rules were written by the league/CSI staff. Patrick already nicely covered the BCA rules, which are in fact the WPA World Standardized Rules. As he pointed out, under WPA rules there is no requirement to contact another object ball, just that it leaves the...

Rule on ball frozen to rail

Even under BCAPL rules it may be a legal shot IF the OB leaves the cushion and contacts another object ball before returning to the cushion. Here's the applied ruling (pages 89 and 90 here: http://www.playcsipool.com/bcapl-rules.html)

    Dealing with Slow Players

I was watching Oscar play this guy from Spain in a Vegas tournament a few years ago. This dude was slooowwwww...zzzzzzz. The match took 3 1/2 hours and ran into the following session. It was aggravating for me and I was just spectating but Oscar sat calmly in his chair, sometimes glancing...

Did I buy Aramith Super Pro Balls?

Yep, the font looks correct, but this really only proves the pic is not of a cheaper Aramith ball set, all of which have a different font than the Super Pros. We still have not seen a photo of the actual set in question though, right? Ultimately it's going to be tough to say definitively...

Did I buy Aramith Super Pro Balls?

This is the part that concerns me. The Super Aramith Pro set comes with the Aramith red logo ball. It has a single logo, not several all over the ball. If the graphics you are referring to are solid dots (6 of them) then that may be the Super Pro Cup cue ball. The problem is this cue ball...

Did I buy Aramith Super Pro Balls?

Pics would help. What cue ball came with the set?

Best 9-ball or 10-Ball Gambling Conditions

I like the table with the drunk APA 2 with a wallet full of cash and trying to draw every shot. If he's on your table #1 above so much the better.

Is "Heart" something you just have or can it be learned?

Yeah Rick, maybe you have signatures turned off because that's been mine since the day I joined here. ;) The ability to persevere, overcome, rise to the occasion, etc., is in some people from the very beginning, some develop it and some will never have it. It can start from simply getting sick...

Is "Heart" something you just have or can it be learned?

Not sure about "heart" or character being a learned skill exactly, but I believe it is something that can be developed even if it's not part of a player's make up from the day they take up the game. Maybe not everyone can have it, but I'm pretty sure there are plenty of players that do that...

    Home pool room advices

Room size is the single most critical factor; allow a minimum of 5' or more on from the outside edges of the table. The 16x20 recommendation is pretty good but keep in mind anything that may infringe on that such as shelving or a big screen TV hung on the walls. Also allow sufficient space for...

Practice table size - 7 footer or 9 footer???

I've yet to see a Valley with tighter pockets than a Diamond. But more than that the Diamond has a deeper pocket shelf. I used to think that too but it depends. If you tend to have back issues bending down to retrieve balls out of the return every rack can also be a pain.
