Today......no. Even when pool was in it's heyday some of the top Pro's had full time jobs. Mosconi and Caras were lucky and were paid to work for Brunswick. Others like; Balsis, Crane, Mizerak, and Babe Cranefield all worked regular jobs in addition to touring professionally.

Damm shame. Allen's SBE was one of the best places to see the top Pro's play up close. Literally a few feet away for 10 bucks! We'll be there again this year. Smaller tournament but hopefully the set up is similar.

Nice catch. I remember Eddie saying that but couldn't figure out why.

Offer to clean the pool hall up, vacuum tables ect.......work for some free pool time.

Kinda agree here....You should approach the owner and offer to do work for his customers and offer him a cut. Ask if you can put up a sign with prices for cue repairs. Let the owner get the cues from the customers and call you to pick them up. He benefits and you benefit.

I've spoken to Simonis on this subject before. I was told one capful of Woolite to a quart of water. Mix it up and wet a microfiber towel with it and ring it out well. (Really well). Go over the stain with it and wipe down the table lightly, let dry. I've had success with this on smaller...

There's that old story of the instructor and the student. The student is sitting down putting his stick together for his first pool lesson. He hears the instructor yell, "your hitting em too hard"!! :cool:

Great article, Baxter. Joe makes a good point about how alot of instructors approach teaching the game. I like what he has to say and hope to take a lesson from him someday.

Will there be a TAR booth at the SBE and will you be selling any other TAR merchandise in addition to Shane's DVD?
