    Featherstrip Removal Tool

I know this is no help to your search but, the only time I saw one was on an episode of This Old House. Norm was watching a guy recover a set of antique rails for a restoration project. He used one of those tools to remove the featherstrip and I thought man, what a great tool to have for those...

    Rail extensions

Thanks gentlemen! Pat - the rubber on one was bad, two were starting to go bad in spots and the other three were very lively. The table is only 10 years old and been in the same climate controlled location since it was new. Bet they were nice playing cushions for about 8 years! I finish out...

    3M Spray Adhesive

Yes I am. I cringe when I see staples in the back of bar rails. I use staples on the ends for about 3". What do you use Rickster? Am I going to cringe at your answer? :p

    3M Spray Adhesive

Still use 77 on bar table rails and 3M 10 on beds. Never tried the off brands but Loctite has a good super glues. Have yet to try their spray glue. Any cheaper that 77?

    Extending subrails

I third dat :grin-square: To make this short story long, that is, if the customer is having new cushions installed. If he/she is just trying to tighten pockets, then double facings is a FRACTION of the cost and if cut and trimmed properly, will work until cushions are shot and you have to...

Trav - We're going to make down to your area one of these first weekends to my in-laws. I can bring my tools and levels and check out your friends table while there. Then we can smack them Olney's around for awhile after! Let me know if I can help. Robin

    Work on GC1 sub-rails

Thanks for the explanation Glen! Wish I had 1/10th the volume as you and could afford that tool shed you must have man! Rick - guess I missed it! Been absent for a few weeks and with all the snow & ice we had over the weekend in NC, my kids are out of school today so, I've had a chance to do...

    Work on GC1 sub-rails

Glen - are you re-cutting the angles on the subrails to accept the K55 cushions again? Unless I missed it, I didn't see in your posts which profile they are cut for. If they are K66, the only problem I would see arising would be 25-30 years down the road when we're all gone. If/when cushions...

    bees wax or spackle

He's still around eh? He was one of the most well respected mechanics around during his "youth". Kind of like the Glen of today's mechanics on this forum. Used to run into him at trade shows and shoot the $hit with him. Great info came from that man! If you ever see him again, tell him...
