Anyone try out one of these on your Deluxe ?

Check this one out! It has a remote switch already, and looks pretty good to me: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Variable-Speed-Servo-Electronic-Motor-SEW-GREEN-550W-/350354434248?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item5192c068c8

Anyone try out one of these on your Deluxe ?

Well we all know where it is being made It is packed in fried rice when shipped! I suspect one can just hot wire the foot petal connections, at most maybe install a resistor inline. It seems to have about ten speed range groups to select from. I doubt one would need more selections. But a...

Anyone try out one of these on your Deluxe ?

Looks like a very easy install, and plenty of power. Made for commercial sewing machines, and many speed ranges available with a twist of a selector switch on the backside of the motor housing. I am curious if anyone has any direct experience with one of these. I am thinking of upgrading from...

    gun drill

If an auger worked as well as a gun drill do you think so many cue makers would buy gun drills at $150 a pop? Some of us use two sizes of gun drills too! If a gun drill is properly aligned, one can expect to bore a handle or forearm in seconds. The wood stays cool and the drill tracks straight...

A question on Uni-Loc vs. standard pins

The pin used is not the major reason for a hard or soft hitting cue. Why choose the failure prone uniloc QR screw instead of more reliable designs? I use a 3/8 X 10 screw into wood for my cues and they are hard hitting cues. The collars absorb a lot of the impact. As does the choice of...

    Fifty Nine!

30 inch shaft the pin in the butt makes a 29 inch butt 30 inches overall length, so in order to keep both halves equal and fit the case best, make the shafts 30 inches. Unless one uses the pin in the shaft style cue of course.

    WTB 3/8 10 modified Tap

Bore your hole properly to the desired ID, many use 0.308 inches or a 7.8 MM drill size, then tap with any normal 3/8 X 10 tap. If you have a button on the end of the tap set to your hole size your tap will follow the bored hole nice and straight. You should get a nice "modified" thread in...

    cuesmith belts

Just a suggestion make sure all the pulley grooves line up perfect. I had the same issues until I made very sure the grooves were in perfect alignment. And once a belt starts to flip just figure you need to replace it. It seems best to remove tension off the belt when you are not using the...

    Shaft Caddies are back

Just put together my shaft caddy It was worth every penny for the cart and the gasoline and miles for me to pick it up 60 miles away. I wish now that I bought two! They are plenty heavy duty enough to hold shafts organized, not big enough for butts though. Thanks again Rick for taking the...
