    If you certain that the wood will be round turn it asap oversize as it is more stable than squares and the moisture is more even. Keep you humidity as close to 50% as possible.

    Losing weight

    Dont listen to these people. Just put a alum joint screw in and get a 1" bit. Drill 4" out of the back and weigh it, and if its still too heavy go 1" at a time until you have the right weight. After 11" you might want to step down to a 3/4" bit. Should hit just under a ton>

    Do even the most well respected cue makers make cues with uneven points, at times?

    A few people make sharp points on a cnc and I have seen it in action. They look very good and I couldnt tell the difference and it takes more time to do them that way.
