    WANTED: Turning Stock/Wood

Craig, thanks for the reference....I've heard good things about them. Anyone have anything laying around the shop they need to get out of the way? I'm open to just about anything.

    quick ?

I agree. I've been using my first cue since it was completed 4 1/2 years ago. There is another local cuemaker that for a good period of time, was using another manufacturer's cue while building cues himself. I thought it was strange that he'd play with this other cue while trying to promote...

    WANTED: Turning Stock/Wood

I'm looking to stock up on some different types of wood. I have a few things in mind, but am open to just about anything to stock up on. I'd be interested in some goncalo alves, tulipwood, hollywood, rosewood, and cocobolo. In particular, I'm looking for the holly and tulipwood in lengths up...

    A Simple Acknowledgment

Great post Jay! I had a nice breakfast conversation with Greg at the DCC last week. When he talks about the industry, the game, the history of the game, etc., you can tell how much he cares about the game. He's one of the most successful people in the history of the "business" side of the...

    A big Rep for KJ.

Brent, If I recall, you had some of these thin rings in the "perfect hitting" purpleheart butterfly cue you practically gave away at the DCC. Do you have any pics of the rings that you could post?

    Burton Spain Literature Scans

Here's some old Burton Spain literature I scanned. Unfortunately, there's no type of date anywhere on any of it. If anyone could help identify the timeframe of the brochure, I'd appreciate it. Full resolution JPG's available via e-mail.

    World One Pocket Challenge Match

Jim, the note in that section says "buy both the above DVDs for $45.00", which I assume to mean the (2) 1999 WPC discs. In regards to the Danny/Ronnie match, both versions are very entertaining and full of great shots and moves.

Louie Roberts Award and J. Lee

The night after they agreeded to stop the first match, they played the game they had arranged. After the 8-hour time limit was up, Jeanette was 2 games up. They were supposed to play again later that night, but I had to leave town. Does anyone know if the second set went off and if so, any...

Louie Roberts Award and J. Lee

My buddy and I were down at the DCC from Wednesday afternoon through Saturday evening. Last night on the drive home, I asked him who would be in the running for the Louie this year. We both agreed that Jeanette was in action most every night and should seriously considered for the award. I...

    Railbird Videos....

I have a couple of old after-hours matches on VHS I bought off eBay a few years ago. Quality is pretty poor. I've tried dubbing them to DVD, but the signal out of the VCR isn't strong enough to feed my computer/dvd burner...apparently.

    Derby City Classic & A-Zers

If you plan on attending the DCC, please consider supporting the AZB/OP.ORG Room. It's a great place to hang out and you never know who will stop in. Nothing like catching Efren hitting 'em around in such a "private" atmosphere. Plus, lots of different instructors and players do clinics, Greg...

    Tip Storage

I keep all the tips I stock in old medicine bottles stored in a plastic toolbox in my basement. I've had them stored this way for several years, if not more, and have never had a problem with regular or layered tips. I would imagine tips packaged in the blister packages (Moori) would stay...

    Rug Under the Pool Table

Rug size aside, there is a good solution to solving/minimizing the "settling" of a table placed on a rug/carpet. I believe it was Glen that posted pictures of his system.....he cuts round pads out of some type of wood and drives a dozen or so roofing nails through the pads. The pads are placed...

    Wanted: Original Slip-Stic

Dave, I wish I could help, but I've been looking for some for some time now. Did anyone ever hear why this product disappeared off the market? It seems everyone always had rave reviews, as did I, and I occasionally see people looking for it, so there is some demand for it. Hmmmm.........

anyone have any stories about George Rood

I just spoke with Todd at Airway and the address at the Widows Home Of Dayton listed a few posts above is current for George. (Todd, nice speaking with you and thanks for confirming the address for me.) Todd says George's mind is still sharp as a tack, but he is in frail health physically...
