    Proper attire for players.

My era. I didn't wear sports jacket but decent shirt collard, slacks, jeans, shoes, sneakers. No white T's. No shorts. Went to many house tournaments though where guests had to wear jacket. Players wore suits or jackets, shoes. $50-100 to get in by invite. 10-20 viewers. % to house and rest...

Where do you see cue sales this year?

Half the cost of a good table. I doubt it. And I don't think they went to movies to see Clint's Sniper because gas is cheaper. We love Eastwood period!

Where do you see cue sales this year?

The cue industry really out paced itself with ridiculous prices when a cue off rack will do just as good. Unless it's for a touring pro.

Where do you see cue sales this year?

The Country is not as social as 50's on these days. We're putting up bigger fences etc. Home rec is in which makes for better family atmosphere. Pool tables, dart board, shuffle table, ping pong, electronics. Screw sitting around watching stupid movies. Move arse time!

Where do you see cue sales this year?

I dont' think it takes a hit, With streaming and looping over to big tv is fun, especially HD. A very easy game to learn once one gets basics down like grips and stance. The bridge was a big hindrance but now the open is popular. I very much prefer closed. More tables and equipment will be spend...

The BBC Producing An American Pool Show

Streaming will bring pool back. The Association nor the Parlors themselves have not been promoting themselves. I don't think pool rooms will grow anywhere near past times but manufacturers will benefit from sales for the home. An entertainment center home needs table, dart board, shuffle board etc.

Proof that Pool is Not for Women

No reason women can't complete with men in pool games. Their one weakness might be 8, 10, and rotation because of break strength. Nine ball should be no problem. Women just don't apply themselves enough to practice it's evident. The Asian female players are great pouters. Allison Fisher in her...

    Racking

putting the ball below string line after opponent fouls is not fair to the person that didn't foul! It's not the rule that made 9 ball too easy it's the jump ball, the jump cue, the break cue allowed. The game is boring now, don't need to be Pro to run 6-7 well spread balls on a 9 ft. table. At...

    Racking

Heck Pro's of past era's would clean the clocks of these so called Pro's w/o all the equipment they bring to the table. It takes em 20 min to pack up junk after playing. As far as gloves are concerned they could spray hand with deodorant. That's why there was powder in pool halls. I would hate...

No Small Miracle.....Jacoby Shaft Tool Review

I read somewhere where a u shaped piece of wire rubbed on wood to a point where it is heated can straighten a shaft with quite a bit of effort.

Do your drop pockets sound like a box of rocks???

Personally I prefer a little Strauss in the background. Could always cut out the bottom of whatever matching the drain cut.. I have a nifty hand vacuum that I use in the pockets. If it were my table I would install leather drop pockets. End of problem. But it isn't so we're messing with various...

    Racking

big difference running 6 balls compare to 8 or 9 more congested. Try some 9 ball on a 7ft table.

    Racking

Totally agree. Slower cloths would bring back more english play therefore more knowledge using it. No gloves, break or jump cues. 1 cue per game and no extensions. Use bridge. Not a hell of a lot of talent needed now. Just a good set of nerves. I would be willing to bet there are dozens of...

    Racking

Before the Pool God's go changing things let's have a clock. Again some of the matches at Turning Stone were painfully slow. Then there are the lint cleaners. Wonder why Billiards is not progressing on TV? Thanks to streaming it has another lifeline. For tournaments dress code and clock at least!!

    Racking

Good idea, Shaw at Turning Stone had it down pat using lots of left and making it come back into the rack. His breaks were going in like lasers same pocket most times. Nine ball is getting boring. Ban the break cue and jump cue. But that is big business now so it will never happen,
