I think this is an old Mali, late 60’s. The thin black cap on the end of a Marble sleeve, the Palmer-esque rings, the pin and the finish over the joint point me in the Mali direction. I’m curious about the wood. It would appear to be some tropical hardwood, Mahogany or possible some cousin...

I would agree, not Joss quality but actually a little better. Joss likes to use rounded synthetic inlays where these are wood on wood inlays. Much cleaner looking IMHO.

I don’t recall seeing a Rich with that style of buttcap and weight bolt.

I don’t really see a problem with the inlays. I think a hard part about identifying Brunswick cues is that they outsourced cue production from the 60’s to present. Some great and some terrible. My oldest outsourced Brunswick cue is a Brunswick by Palmer from the late 60’s. Nearly identical...

Pin is 5/16x18.

The only similarity between that cue and a Schon is the Acme pin Schon used for 1 year. Not a Schon, IMHO.

I’m away from home where the cue is, but I never noticed anything wrong with the inlays. The only issue I have with the cue is it is missing the weight bolt, which holds the buttcap on. Regarding how it plays, it plays damn good. I prefer it to my pre-92 Schon. Falcon’s have great shaft...

Aluminum insert points to Gandy/National which both Ricco Cervantes and Helmstetter worked at, at least National. Looks like an HC-150 by Gandy.
