    Why pay to recover table

You sir don't know a thing about most of us "Table Mechanics". I know what I do is not rocket science. But what I do is a skilled trade. If you have a problem with a couple guys you should call them out and leave the rest of us out of it. Thanks and have a good night!

what kind of tool is needed for this?

I did not scoff at you. You do not use power tools to remove those bolts. I have tried with a fork bit with a socket attached. When it slipped I gouged an apron. I use power tools all the time in my business. I have also used a brace and found it awkward.

what kind of tool is needed for this?

I don't know how many antiques you have work on but most of the time you only need the tool to break the bolt loose. Most come out by hand very quickly after the initial loosening with a tool.

    help with olhausen

They are not Accu-Fast cushions on your table. The older Olhausen's did not have Accu-Fast until the mid 90's if I remember correctly. They also said it on the emblem. The newer Olhausens all have the Accu-fast cushion.. Accu-fast cushions do not go bad. At least the thousands I have moved or...

    Accu-fast Cushions on this one!

The emblem tells the story. It is an older drake which did not have accu-fast cushions. It would say it on the emblem.

    What's wrong with my table?

You need k66 at a minimum. Olhausen rails are too thin for k55 and the bevel for both are different. Accu-fast is really the cushion you should have used.

    Accu-fast Cushions on this one!

That table does not have accu-fast cushions.

Yeah I just re-read the original post. Lol. I thought it was strange to ask how to switch to drop pockets. Again I think Ken Hesh can help the OP.
