    8 ball safety

I agree, it's a good hit. But, there was a Nationally certified ref, playing in the tourney, that I have been friends with a long time, and he says they differ. VNEA is a good hit, and BCA is a foul. It didn't happen to me, but I still told him I didn't agree. The way the rule is written, is...

    8 ball safety

A discussion came up about this, at the BCA State tourney in French Lick Indiana. Playing 8 ball Player A has stripes, he has no shot at his last ball, and calls a safe. His ball is declared frozen to the rail. He shoots the cue ball into his ball lightly, and the cue ball touches the rail...

Yea, I am Bringin the Mixed Nuts team down. The place was pretty nice last year. Kinda like the big space for the tables. Hotel was nice enough. Since it's a Tri State tourney, I am wondering how much bigger it will be this year

Has anyone ever heard of Keith McCready?

Normally I wouldn't think of pre-paying for a book. But Jam, If you need up-front money to pay for printing costs, I will pre pay, and I am sure there are at least 200 other posters that will. I know of several wealthy pool people, who would gladly stake the venture. We all know you are a...

Has anyone ever heard of Keith McCready?

A and E award? No, not Keith..... From my point of view, Keith has always been a prime candidate for this award, even before the idea existed. Every single time I saw him at a tourney during the years, he was constantly trying to set a game. He is, what the award stands for. I was at...

From the Derby City Forum -- The Winner of the Louie Roberts Award is Simply Amazing

Nice post Worminator I saw the thread, asking for votes. I didn't spend much time in the action room, so I didn't vote. I know Richie was in there quite a bit, because when I walked by, he seemed to always be there, or in the hall talking to someone. I have known Richie for several years, and...

Review of the Derby City Classic for Spectators

overhead projector They have the one screen out by the ticket window, and the other by the main desk. Where at the E.W.,,, they only had the one in the main room, up by the ceiling. The tv channel in the rooms, are much better now too. At the old place, it was always really snowy. Plus, now...

The lawman needs to just sell cues!

ya think I can assure you, it's no fun to be on the bad end of one of these matches. I think I got more shots than one guy at the DCC. I believe it was Jason Miller who won the flip, ran 5, then 5, then a 2 or 3 the last game, before his opponent got to the table.

Its ok. Just wanted to clarify. That's what I get for guessing. This is the first time I haven't seen Don at the Derby, since I met him several years ago. And you're right, he's an extremely nice guy..... His pool game has come up a little too. Don't tell him I said that.

The lawman needs to just sell cues!

Sounds like my match with Dave Matlock At the E.W. a few years ago, I played Dave. We estimate the match at 8 minutes. First game he broke and flew the cue ball off the table. I made 2 and he banked 6 n out. Next game he banked 3, I bank 3, and he banks 2 n out. Last game he banks 2 I make 2...

Sunny My post about the personal assistant, was not meant as a slam, or a joke. I didn't know who was with her, If I had known it was Don, I would have said so. She did have a personal assistant with her at one of the brickyard tournies.

    John Brumback Behind The Microphone

exactly We need the players like him and Shane, with the proper attitudes toward the sport, to help point the way. But, having someone with the knowledge in the booth to point out things, is a must. If you have really good players in the booth, you can learn a lot by just listening...
