Equipment advacements in pool and snooker

Simply: commercial interest. Americans will buy anything if marketed even halfway competently. We consider it a good thing, surprisingly. The manufacturers pump the money back into sponsorships. We have more tournaments, and bit more product. It's a fragile cycle. Your system is better, in my...

Find U.S. rooms with snooker tables

The listing for Dave & Buster's, Addison, IL is likely in error, unless it is more recent than a couple of years. There were no snooker tables there the last time I visited, two years ago. I'm sure you keep up with new additions, but deletions would seem difficult to track.

    Brunswick Superspeed Cushions

It's a useful lesson, to not hit down on the cue with force without intending that.

    Brunswick Superspeed Cushions

Many thanks. It played very close to how you diagrammed on my GC3 +Super Speeds. I wondered, with all this gnashing, if maybe mine wasn't quite right. I'm quite satisfied now. Sent from my SM-T810 using Tapatalk

    Brunswick Superspeed Cushions

Thanks Bob. (No pool table handy...) Is that the 4-1 line, in the Corner-5 system?

So, how does one aim that 9 rails around shot? Sent from my SM-T810 using Tapatalk

    Back hand movement

I can think of a few reasons. I like a certain amount of bend in my bridge arm. The grip distance changes with bridge length to keep the shooting side forearm vertical. I don't like to torque my wrist with the off center weight of my stick. So I grip it near center while doing the walk around...

    Slumps stink

I can't help but wonder if alcohol consumption is implicated, increasingly as the match progresses. I gave up even beer until after my match(es). I'm much happier for it. Slumps suck.

    Ceiling Fan and LED Light

Oh... And +1 on the spotlight idea. I considered it briefly but the traditional hanging chain mount was far simpler and cheaper. Track lights will probably look great with your open rafters.

    Ceiling Fan and LED Light

I have a ceiling fan and a more or less standard, 4 light fixture with cone shades directly under it. If it moves at all, it's not enough to notice let alone find objectionable. The dim reflection of the moving blades on the shades can look like billowing cigar smoke out the corner of my eye...

    G3 ball returns "ring"

Thanks. I should have looked instead of wondering aloud in public.

    G3 ball returns "ring"

I'm guessing the pocket liners weren't fully seated yet. They now look and feel tight. Pool balls weigh 6 oz. each. I shot as hard as I could readily control. The same stroke would send the cue ball 3 to 4 trips up and back between the end rails. Center ball hits don't lose any of that energy...

    G3 ball returns "ring"

I appreciate the info. Thanks. It's a new installation, just over a week old now. I pounded the pocket liners into place last night with 6 oz. mallets -- center ball full stop shots at 3 to 4 table length speed. The sound changed a little, but still sounds cheesy compared to the meaty smack I...

    G3 ball returns "ring"

A very light touch on the ball return rods sets them ringing. They ring when balls fall in. They ring lightly with each step as I walk around the table. I had always liked the unique "pock" sound GC pockets make when struck. The ringing destroys that ambiance. What can I do to deaden the...
