    If you lkike tushhog stories

If you remind me, when the Derby is over, I'll tell you some "Lloyd" tales. I refer to Lloyd who used to hang around Fred's place in El Monte. I don't mind if posters precede me with stories. For Lloyd's time he was one of a kind. Just to whet your appetite, Lloyd would lay anybody in the world...

    Ring game

You can order the book by sending $23 to Grady Mathews 850 C. South Lake Dr. Lexington, SC 29072 I could do 10 Ball but it's a lot of work and I've found the 9 ball players to be much harder to deal with and less dependable than the Bank pool players

    Bustamante and major titles

You must be kidding. right. One year on the Camel tour, there were eight tournaments. Francisco won three and finished second in two others. Anyway, by the way I figure things, two seconds in major events equals at least one first. I don't see anybody hustlin' Busta to play for money either.

Straight Pool Bus Bench Mystery- Los Angeles

Further fodder for your perusal For whoever asked, it was a furniture table, which reposed in his screening room. He would have been a lot better off getting a good Diamond smart table. The lesson didn't go as well as I had hoped, for two reasons: 1. The aforementioned furniture table, which...

Straight Pool Bus Bench Mystery- Los Angeles

I know these guys One of these guys is president of a big movie company. The other is high up in TV productions. They took out an ad in BD once stating that one of them beat the other. They play at the presidents house in Malibu regularly. His gate costs more than any house I ever owned. I know...

I really expected Mike to out live me!

I first met mike in the 60's, when he worked for Weenie Beenie. He was a good player then, and although I didn't play him at the time, I enjoyed his help and how to match up with the locals. Jack and Jills, in Arlington,V.A., just off Glebe road might have been the greatest action joint ever...

    Bob "the Destroyer" Myers

But There are two men alive who could answer questions on this topic: Marshall "Squirrel" Carpenter and the great "Brooklyn Jimmy". Freddie has Jimmy's number and I have Squirrel's but I'm hesitant to give it out. Since the plyers talked about here were/are a generation older than I, I really...

    Rogue's list

My personal list has a four way tie for first. Some considerees are still alive and I'd be risking my life if I mentioned them. After they pass I'll gladly share. I don't have time right now to answer lots of questions. This is just a sampling of what's to come. In no special order they are...

Probably not I lived in Houston 69' to 70', OKC 71' and 72', then Colo. Spgs. for 9 years. I did live in socal for a couple of years in the late 60's. During that period I played anyone on the bar box and don't remember losing.

The Weldon Rogers stories I promised to share...

Weldon Rodgers and “Bakersfield Bob” were both from a small town in Arizona, Eloi I think. I don’t remember, for a goodly number of years, anybody beating any of us playing even up bar pool. Weldon and Bobby played great with the big rock while I did most of the small cue ball playing. We ended...
