    I give

I thought I put forth persuasive, powerful information that would convince any poster about the correctness of my positions on the UPA and Charlie Williams. That has obviously not been the case. Therefore I apologize to anyone I may have offended. Listen, I feel bad enough that for the 4th year...

More interesting fodder Lots of things about this event suck. For starters, if I ever do do an invitational or a seeded affair, the meeting(s) to decide who gets what would be recorded and available to anybody. Next, am I the only one who finds it smelly that Jasmin advanced with a two and...

What do you think of this?

I promoted 20 tournaments with $15,000 or added and directed 40 more for other promoters. I am proud of the fact that people like my commentary and in general, my work. Don't you think that, forget about being able to play in anything I want, I have at least accheived talk show status? I don't...

This is all I have to say.

Correction No player ever had to qualify for one of my tournaments. I have always despised invitationals. Two more "senior moments" entered my memory this morning. I thought you might enjoy these but bear in mind these wouldn't have been possible if these had been invitationals. San Jose Dick...

Thanks for the ignore Roy even had the nerve, after telling me multiple times that I didn't merit an invitation, would I please put everything I had to say in a single post? I like and respect many of the posters here. I love to tell stories about pooldom's greatest. But I'm just not going to be...

Thanks Thanks for all the positive responses. Craig, you were a great host and friend. I'd love to come back sometime. As far as the ignore feature, I think it's great. Why should I have to explain myself over and over to people who shouldn't be judging me in the first place?

A few more things This post wasn't meant to try to get an invitation. It was just to answer about what I've been doing the last 10 or so years.Look, if any promoter doesn't consider it an honor to have Grady Mathews in his field, it's his loss, not mine. If I were proffered an invite for next...

    Since you asked

I put Rich R and NYC cue dude on my ignore list. Some posters have asked' "What's he done over the last 10 or 12 years?" Nothing great but here's what: Wrote a book. Created and hosts the Bank Pool ring game and co-hosts the One Pocket and Bank Pool HOF...

This is all I have to say.

At least, guys, get your facts straight, please I actually won two 14.1 tournaments, one was one of Frank Zummo's events in Cleveland, the other the New England Straight Pool Championship. The latter had Nicky Vhalos, Larry Liscotti, Ray Martin, Boston Shorty and some other very good players...

This is all I have to say.

Thanks I wish to thank everyone for their opinions. I really have nothing else to say except my favorite quote of all time by the great Joe Louis: "If you has to tell em' who you is, you aint."

    More on the subject

I didn't get to play in my first World 14.1 tournament until 1983, when I was 40 years old. I finished in a tie with Ray Martin for 3rd & 4th. Without going into detail, I and others were discriminated against. It has been my hope that I could help other players not go through that. I'm going to...

I'm really proud of Tom Watson. I ask respectfully. Why should I be denied my opportunity to play in my sport? It is disgracefulm for me not to receive an invitation to the straight pool tournament.

Let me respond I'm not offended at critizism but in this instance I think I will defend myself.Firstly, I don't practice 14.1 because I don't get an invitation to the big tournament. Also, straight pool, although I have loved it all my life, is a terrible gambling game. I'd rather practice my...

Thanks more than I can put into words, gentlemen I'm going to prodce a show that will be better than anything ever done about pool. If it flies like I know it will, I'll do world class tournaments, with zero attached politics, no favortism and solid prize money. I shall also attack the status...

I've always been a golf fan, although not a very good player. I caddied for Ken Venturi, Gary Player, Carol Mann, Patty Berg, Bud Ward and a few other notables.I especially enjoy the British Open as I can begin watching early in the morning. Guess who was leading this star-studded affair this...

    Predator World 14.1

I concur I think you guys are right on the money with your assessments. I do feel that I should receive an invite, even if my play isn't close to what it once was. Well, I'm sure they lost my address or just overlooked me. Maybe next year.
