I wipe down the cue ball after every rack. Usually just a dry cloth, but if it's getting a lot of marks, maybe a damp cloth. I don't play in a league or tournaments so I don't know what the rules might be there.

I have a 97-11 I am thinking of selling but don't know what it's worth. Very nice cue. 9 out of 10 w/ black dot shaft. If you are interested I will do a little looking for what is a fair price.
