WHAT BALLS WOULD YOU BUY ?

Well just my opinion. The Tournament set are beautiful for sure but to me they are just another standard set. The Elephant Beautiful balls really are great looking in person and my wife and all female players would rate them much higher just because of the swirls. Best advice is by what you...

    Soft Tips

I am a soft tip player for years, but recently tried a G2 Medium and have been very pleased. This one actually replaced a plain ol' LePro. I also switched to TAOM chalk at the same time, so that may be a factor? Not sure. The tip does stay chalked better though.

Why 9' ft. Tables ? Guy...

There isn't enough energy in my head to actually explode these days. I did not mention larger tables because that wasn't the question. Also, the 9 really is the better in JUST my opinion. The larger tables require too much extension and bridge shooting. While those are certainly high skills...

Why 9' ft. Tables ? Guy...

Anthony Beeler has a very good video that explains this in his online billiards academy (which I recommend. ) A lot of times this is a stroke issue. On a 9, your stroke must be longer, level and consistent. The result is more "elbow drop" for players who are used to shorter tables...

    "Gold Crown" Ball Polisher...FINISHED!

I would love to see such elegance available to the rest of us unskilled masses. Sadly, even if that were desired, there are probably all kinds of legal issues with Diamond in trying to profit on their basic design. What COULD happen though, is Diamond could offer an "upgraded" model with...

Why 9' ft. Tables ? Guy...

It is the pinnacle of required skill. The pro players on a larger table, and perhaps even with smaller pockets, have a challenge that is equal to their ability. I find, and I think most do, that when I have played a day on a 9ft. table then go home to my 8ft. table, my game is tighter. The...

    "Gold Crown" Ball Polisher...FINISHED!

This is an amazing story we have followed, and fun to watch. I hope you get a lot of years of enjoyment out of your new "Bruswick" ball cleaner! Just a side note, if you are happy with your formula, don't change a thing of course, but I would love to hear how the 1Tbsp Aramith cleaner in 1cup...

Diamond Ball Polisher vs Bludworth Ball Polisher

I have a CleanGleem polisher. They recommend a solution of 1 Tablespoon of Aramith Cleaner to 1 cup of 91% isopropyl alcohol in a spray bottle, applied while the machine is running. This MINIMAL wax in the alcohol dries quickly, and polishes really well. All of my sets look brand new with a...

Mental Game - (long) The role of aiming systems in peak performance.

These are nice steps to performance improvement over time. As I look back, this was pretty much my history, albeit unconsciously. Now days, whenever my game begins to wain, I have a quick fundamentals checklist in my head. I can pretty quickly figure out what I am missing. For me, the most...

    Cyclop shutting down?

Thank you for that color chart Fatboy! Very useful information. Based on this, all of the sets we see coming from Dynaspheres with the grey and light blue may be based on the 1920's? Clearly and interestingly, the "Traditional Color Sets" seem to be based on the swatch from the 1910's which...

    Cyclop shutting down?

You are the MOST consistent, reliable, traditionalist on AZB by a WIDE margin! :-) While I generally agree with you that traditional is best, and I personally really like the maroon color and, of course, the orange 5 ball, the other sets are fun to switch out. I guess this is why ford no...

    Cyclop shutting down?

Interesting that you described these as "Easter Egg" colors. If I am thinking of the same set, we have a Dynaspheres Tungsten set and my daughter, upon seeing them for the first time, said, "Oh wow, those look very "Art Deco" or mid 1920's." Since she is my daughter, she is right and you are...

Congrats on the great bargain. That makes it all the more fun! Please post a pic of the cue for us :-)

Anyone else ever pull out an old cue, play great with it, and suddenly doubt which is your favorite?

I own 2 players. One 13mm maple and 1 12.2mm graphite. I swap them out every once in a while and find I play about the same. The 13mm is more forgiving but the 12.2 seems to do much better with ball control IMHO.

    Pool fads?

B But depending on the style you choose, Dynaspheres run from $100 for their classic Bronze set to nearly $400 for their high style sets with extra cue ball etc. Cyclop Hyperion with 3 extra money balls and extra cue ball was certainly high end like that and thus the premium price. What...
