    Playing Pool after 50?

All started from a tongue in cheek reply

    Playing Pool after 50?

As far as I am aware it illegal to carry where alcohol is served. I also believe there was a thread on this very forum about a shooting in a pool hall right here in America. Are the following enough for now or do you require more? This is much more effort than I was planning to put into a tongue...

    John Schmidt runs 820

Probably a 7 a 6 sometimes and 5 even less. If those 5 1/4" pockets made the game so easy we would see many more run outs on original Valleys because of the shallow shelf and forgiving cushion angles. When our state tournament used Valleys you would see dudes run out 8 ball racks occasionally...

    Automatic Shot Clock

I think Digiball and a shot clock would be great for practice just to get you in a natural rhythm of using less than 30 seconds per shot if you don't want nuisance at the table.

    John Schmidt runs 820

I would bet a very large sum of money that an APA 3 would not run a rack of 9 ball or 8 ball on this table even given many tries.

    Automatic Shot Clock

Man, its been a long wait, that's for sure.

    Automatic Shot Clock

    Has the Digiball been released???

    Automatic Shot Clock

I don't think an object ball spinning in place poses any real problem, it doesn't prevent the shooter from his shot preparation.

small tight pockets in one pocket good or bad?

If you want "super tight" pockets maybe try Russian Pyramid instead of pool since you are one of the few that seek unusually tight pockets. No reason to reinvent the wheel.

    Optimistic Posters

I see, hangars. Is this thread about hangers or hangars?? When I see a hangar I see lots of shop space, it doesn't necessarily have to be occupied by aircraft, in fact it just might be a waste of indoor space.

small tight pockets in one pocket good or bad?

What are you on about? Is this even pool related?? Sounds like a therapy session or something.

small tight pockets in one pocket good or bad?

Great shooting!! One thing I will mention is that there is a lot more that affects how a pocket plays than the size of the opening. I'm sure its possible for a 4.5" pocket to play tougher than a 4" pocket.

More aiming fodder for the cannons.

The bottom photo I believe is correct but I dont think its even possible to make the contact points touch in the top photo. When 2 balls collide they will always be on equal parts of each ball. If you were to move the yellow ball further from the pocket in the first photo to where it is almost a...

Early Impressions Of The Diamond Professional

Wow!!!! What exactly did he not understand about the ball being 2 1/4" each in diameter?? He is using the absolute worst measuring tool possible to measure that point to point opening. One has to check every tape measure to see if the tab is accurate.

    I finally played Ultimate Pool

I too like the UPUSA events although I much preferred the races to 6 or 7 instead of just playing the 30 minutes and seeing who has the most wins. I think the race to a certain number adds an extra level of entertainment because there are 2 ways a match can be decided, by time or by the race format.

Looking for a steel GCI foot

Im sorry, I thought that this was your quote "I would never use a helicoil type insert if I could use a solid insert." I merely said Heli-Coils are used beyond frequently without fail.

    I finally played Ultimate Pool

"6.5 foot (88”), 7 foot (93"), 8 foot (101")" Where do you suppose they are measuring these tables?? If its cushion nose to cushion nose which is the correct way to measure playing area that 8" Valley at 101" is bigger than a 9' Gold Crown.

Looking for a steel GCI foot

Thousands of aluminum cylinder heads have Heli-coils in exhaust holes, intake holes, rocker arm stud holes with valves springs in excess of 1,000lbs open seat pressure all without fail, in fact I have had brand new heads that I have had heli-coils installed in all of the holes to get rid of the...
