I've played many times on a barbox, 8ball included, and I have no interest in it. And that is totally fine. Just like if you believe barbox 8ball is difficult, that is fine too. I feel like it restricts your stroke and you have to baby the ball a lot to get short distance position. I rarely ever had to let me stroke out on a 7ft table, and that is not a true indication of my abilities. I didn't see any issue running out a rack of 8ball on a barbox. I find it easy because there are no long distance shot that put you to the test, just a bunch of short positional shots that test your speed control where you have to jab or poke at the ball and slow roll it.
I also find 8ball too easy because if I make a solid, and I mess up position on my next ball, it's completely okay because I have 6 other balls to shoot at. Too much reward not enough punishment for messing up position. I make another ball, I mess up position again, it's okay, I have 5 other balls I can choose to shoot. That is not skillful to me.
