    Cisero Murphy's biography...

There was a 2006 thread about who and what pool movie would you like to see. This was my post then. "Cicero Murphy. A gritty movie done in black and white of his early years up to his later years. He could not compete in world events until 1965 because of his race...he won a world title on...

    Indexing Fixtures FS

I have two indexing fixtures for sale. These were used on my CNC machine to inlay and cut points in a lot of cues. The top picture was used for cutting points. The indexer and the tailstock are keyed, so they can be removed and replaced. The tailstock slides on the key way for easy...

    Ferrule needed for break cue

Just to clarify, Tomahawk can handle the impact of breaking. It was tested as a break/jumper uncapped with a 3/8" tenon with no failure. That being said, I like Ivorine IV for break/jump. It is extremely hard and heavy.

    sap in purpleheart dowels

Even kiln dried wood of some species can occasionally ooze sap. When wood dries, concentrations of sap will crystallize. Changes in humidity and temperature (it is middle of summer and I suspect your shop does not have AC) can make pockets of sap a bit viscous. I have seen this in purpleheart...

    xzero mini raptor

    1. Set to incremental/fixed distance travel mode in your controller software. I don't use Mach, so I may not be calling the term exactly how it reads in Mach. 2. Set the travel distance to something like .020" of travel. 3. Tap the key a couple of times to send the machine in a certain...

And while you have the dial indicator there, after you have the scale correct, measure the backlash in both directions for all 3 axes. That can reveal something not quite right and good to know.

MVP FS Purpleheart into Ebony, Turquoise & Snakeskin Juma, Engravings

Howdy all. The turquoise color got washed out a little in the pics, and the figure in the purpleheart is a little nicer than the camera can show as well. I went down to a .005" endmill for the engravings, though the bold lines in the JP engravings might not suggest that. Fun cue. Here is a...

    Coring For Tone

Thanks for your post. I understand your thoughts. I do think if there ever were glued surfaces (at least with epoxies allowed to soak in when laminating them an then later gluing in the groove) that would fail last in a cue it would be laminated veneers. Regarding my original post and...

    Coring For Tone

??? I'm wanting to argue by giving my opinion that there might be a logic discrepancy in regards to what you said about too much glue? There was a rule in this thread against bringing up veneers? Google my heart out? Ill conceived trap? Pointing out the tolerance in a typical coring job is...

    Coring For Tone

You say there is too much glue involved when it comes to improving resonance and coring. Then you say the purest transition of resonance is done with 4 pt F/S. Well, there is a layer of glue between the entire surfaces of the forearm and butt wood with full splice. Personally, I don't see how...
