    FS Blanks for sale, ebony/cocobolo/bocote/purpleheart

Thanks for your interest fellows. I take custom orders. Most of my custom orders are for veneered full splice blanks. I make a run of the "off the shelf" sneaky blanks now and then, but no guarantee exactly when.

    FS Blanks for sale, ebony/cocobolo/bocote/purpleheart

I have 10 FS blanks for sale. All have curly maple fronts. Three ebony, 2 cocobolo, 3 bocote, and 2 purpleheart. Both cocobolo are an even dark color. The purpleheart will purple up (just turned before the pic was taken) and has some figure...will finish nicely. The ebony have some streaks...

    Fleur-de-lis all Ebony Black Beauty

I haven't posted a cue in a while, here is my latest. This is a fully cored one piece ebony cue. The FDL/rings are made from white mother of pearl, gold lipped mother of pearl, and the white stuff. This was paired with a carbon fiber cue, so the joint and butt cap are black for an all black...

    Routing out tomahawk

I have engraved my logo/initials in a Tomahawk butt cap and never had a problem. That is just a shallow engraving, not a pocket. When drilling, you do need to drill with an intermediate drill before your final drill.

    FS: Ebony Rounds

I have 9 ebony rounds for sale. The diameters are all about 1.34". The four on the left are 19.75-20" long. The last 5 run from 17 to 18". The rounds have a thin sealer on them. As seen in the pic, they have a bit of color here and there. There is some minor grain movement and a couple...

how to design a true parabolic/conical tapered cue- ?

No. Curves can have asymptotes. The boundary of an asymptote is linear but the line that approaches it is still a curve. It has to be a curve since it never reaches it. The shaft would gradually increase in diameter from the tip but slowly enough that it would look like a "pro taper" or very...

how to design a true parabolic/conical tapered cue- ?

Wow. A curve doesn't have to have a relative maximum or relative minimum to be a curve.

how to design a true parabolic/conical tapered cue- ?

A cone from tip to butt would throw off something somewhere. 10.5 mm tip for a typical joint and butt size. For a typical 12.5mm tip, either the joint is going to have to be really thin or the butt is going to have to be really fat. I've never made and hit with a cue with a really small or...

how to design a true parabolic/conical tapered cue- ?

I often want the impossible in my life as well. A lot of the LD "conical" shafts with small tips aren't really conical, they are much closer to three linear tapers. With a cutter. No, seriously. If the tip is 11.75 mm and the joint is a typical .845", there is only one way to make a concial...

how to design a true parabolic/conical tapered cue- ?

My response was in jest, and a result of a lot of water under the bridge (a lot of posts in this forum on the subject) when it comes to parabolic tapers. It sort of became a buzz word that IMO was applied to all tapered shafts that had a curve to them. There was even some speculation that a...

how to design a true parabolic/conical tapered cue- ?

Doing a parabolic taper also requires wearing a special hat.

It takes a finish well, no problems reported by any customers. I have sprayed autoclear directly over Tomahawk, and have applied a very thin epoxy basecoat and then sprayed. No problems with either for me.
