Mako Punch Break Tip Crystal Clear

Installed one tonight... Put one on my personal break/jump cue. Easy to install and polishes up easily. Unique look. I'll try to hit a few tomorrow and report back. Thanks for the forum discount, appreciated.

    Mach 3 Safe Z Question

You should be able to also set your safe Z in your CAM program. My CAM program allows for a rapid safe Z for avoiding clamps etc., and a second safe Z that allows for rapids down to a Z value before the cut to save time. Not sure what you're using so I can't really help much. But look into G98...

Mr. Wilson, Justinb386 here. Why do you call me a Scammer?

Now that's funny!!!! :D I've ran a couple forums in the past, the key to dealing with the mentally unstable and trolls is to NOT FEED them! They will starve and move on surprisingly quickly if they are completely ignored. Otherwise it does become a game of whack-a-mole. I always had more...

    CNC machine

I've had a 6090 4 axis CNCEST for about a year. I went with the 6090 because I wanted to do both inlays and tapers with it. They seem to be hit and miss as far as QC goes and how much work it takes to get them running well. Electronics are pretty much crap but some have got them to work ok. I...

Gun drills - how much air pressure?

Interesting... thanks for sharing. Never thought about counter rotation (and would have no easy way to do so) but it make perfect sense, especially with rifle barrels.

    Weird Joint

Bingo! Got one of these in for some repairs/tips a while back. Unfortunately I didn't get any after pictures but I had to take a few right when I got it in as I'd never seen anything like it. This one is a conversion. What really surprised me was the screw-on aluminum ferrules onto a brass stud...

Want to buy soft case for the first time

I not really sure as I've never seen a LC3 up close, from pictures it looks like the LC5 may have more/bigger pockets, but can't really tell from the pictures I've seen. Wish I could help more. Maybe someone else has owned/seen both. And yes, for the money they are pretty nice cases. I've had...

Want to buy soft case for the first time

I use a LC5 and love it. Seems to be holding up really well going on two years. I'm always having people send home shafts or complete cues with me for tips and repairs so having the 4x8 really comes in handy for that. It's got a ton of storage in pockets which is a huge plus for me. Good luck!

Speaking of Mach 3 offsets and limits

I hate to be the bearer of bad news John but yes I know exactly what you're going through. Sad to hear that it messed up that cue, I can't tell you how many work pieces I lost due to the crappy electronics these things ship with. I fought mine for about 6 months, sometimes it would go weeks...

Speaking of Mach 3 offsets and limits

Wow, I wrote that late last night... should have waited until this morning. :) I tend to use "limit switch" and "home switch" interchangably and I shouldn't, it only adds to the confusion. I only have three home switches on my machine and no limit switches, relying on soft limits from there...

Speaking of Mach 3 offsets and limits

This drove me crazy when I was using mach3. If you don't have home switches and you press ref all home mach3 will set the machine coords to zero where ever the tool happens to be regardless of what work offset you're in. I crashed my machine a few times trying to figure this out. A couple...

    Looking for recommendations

Thanks, I think it's going to work well. The 4th axis came with the 6090, ebay. I think you can get them separately there as well. The stepper is accurate to a thou or two, but the tailstock is complete garbage and I've never used it. Those taig headstocks are pretty cheap from my searches...

    Looking for recommendations

What I came up with. In case you haven't already came up with something, I decided to go with Todd's workstation and it is working out perfectly. My biggest concern was the limited Z clearance on my Chinese 6090. Turns out this has plenty of clearance for the tailstock without having to...
