The smaller pockets are helping the weak players, its very deep and people don't see it.

Yeah, I wish a lot of these disagreements didn't spiral into insults. It's fun hearing different ideas and if we find them lacking in value, we can scroll past. I get the other to type nasty stuff but hopefully I can remember to scroll instead of respond.

Which event? At Oscar's place, the only table in the tournament room with 4" pockets is the #1 table, the rest are 4 1/2". I believe they switched the #1 table with #4 for the tournament because that's the streaming table. Unless they changed them after the event. The Gold Crowns in the rear of...

So Gorst won a game for every 9.75 balls pocketed and Shane won a game for every 10.24 balls pocketed. I guess that 0.01 ball was the one Gorst sent off the table. I'm surprised the difference in balls pocketed is that great. I don't know what that really means from a performance or strategy...

Depends on the generator. It's probably not this generator, nor used in this scenario, but if a generator is operating in its most efficient range, it burn the fuel much more efficiently than most car engines. There's probably a 10-20% loss though, so it would have to be a very special case...

I guess luck is the best way to describe it. It seems like the top pros miss rarely enough that it's like rolling dice. You have a one in 36 chance of rolling snake eyes. If I roll snake eyes soon after you are back in the game. If it takes a while, and then you roll them quickly, you might be...

I lost a game because the cue ball was too close to the rail to draw comfortably so I tried to hit the point and the object ball at the same time but it was too deep in the pocket. At home, with beat up cloth on the facings, my Olhausen spits out a lot of balls shot down the rails when you hit...

    Diamond table poll!

Yeah, it's like driving a big old Cadillac. I dig the mid century vibe.

I'm not a big fan of the deep shelf on diamonds. Sometimes the ball will be sitting so deep that you can't play position off of it. I'd rather the pockets spit the balls out than keep them that deep.

    Shane vs. Fedor

Yeah, the last 15 games were exciting but I can't imagine watching 230+ games.

Yeah, the corners on the pro-am look like something I would build. The diamond professional looks nice.

I look at reddit but will verify most things I read there.

I think every pocket on the table should be a different size and shape. Did we ever get a concise hypothesis for why smaller pockets favor the weaker player? For every scenario where it could help the weaker player, they could also favor the stronger player. As far as lack of dominance goes...

    Diamond bar boxes are trash

I think how well a table is serviced and maintained is the primary factor, unless the table is shite to begin with. The diamonds I have played on tend to have good cloth and be well maintained. I don't see many Valleys around here, it's usually Dynamo 88s, and those vary a lot.

    Diamond bar boxes are trash

I've only paid a few dozen games on Diamond bar boxes but I have no complaints. Depending on the speed of the cloth it can be a real finesse game with soft strokes and one tip of English being plenty.

    Rake Length

Yeah, with the traditional overhand technique I don't see the use of a shorter bridge. If you have a butt extension, you can stroke like a regular shot and a shorter bridge wood work then.

What a legacy. We don't give it a lot of thought, but when you think about how many illnesses and death have been prevented by modern plumbing, Harrington, with help from others, is above Jonas Salk, Christian Barnard, Louis Pasteur, and penicillin dude.

Everyone can look. But only a few can see.

    That's a prefect analogy.
